Do you trust me?
Yes.
Well then listen. It may not suit you, but it’s alright.

The girls have been doing the old gospel song Crying Holy Unto the Lord for more than a few years….
Planting during the right moon phase is easier than it sounds-basically you plant crops that produce their bounty above ground…
About rwo months ago a friend called to say they were awakened in the night by some sort of scuffle…
If you look at the top of this page in the menu you’ll see a link to my Grannyisms-page. I’ve been collecting…
You all did so well guessing what the twig toothbrush was-that I thought I’d give you another ‘what is it’….
The calm of daily life in Brasstown was interrupted last week by John C. Campbell Folk School’s Little Middle Folk…

I get so excited reading information from the generation
that knew how to make it work –came up very hard
and there knowledge of how to survive was so
important and I think we can learn a lot from their ways
of living.
Look forward to seeing what you post.
Pamela-thank you for the comment! I love Ron Rash-let me know how you like the book!
I just borrowed this ebook from my library: Burning Bright
by Ron Rash, Stories from Appalacia.
I’m afraid I have the same problem as b. Ruth. I’m married to a whopper teller and he’s been pulling my leg for 47 years. The sad part is – I keep falling for his tales. I’ve already told everyone that my epitaph should read: SHE WAS SOOOO GULLIBLE. He does keep me laughing though.
Also, instead of breaking those fruit jars marked 13, put ’em up on eBay. There are 3 up today ranging from $20 to $50, Two even have zinc lids – Woo Who! Seems a bit outlandish. Of course, they may not sell.
Thank you, Tipper!!! I’m so excited- I may get my book on one of those cold snowy days after all!
Congratulations Suzi!

Tipper,
Thanks for making sure Ethelene got the Blind Pig and I’m glad she’s home.
Looks like we’re in for the coldest of the Winter soon and we might get some Snow Monday and Tuesday.
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

WHOA!!…Tipper,
My “TRISKIADEKAPHOBIA” just kicked in when I realized the date of this post and that it’s a FRIDAY!
Thanks Tipper,
PS…All you ‘moonshiners’ and ‘canners’ don’t forget to break your #13 jars…today is the day to do the deed…OR NOT!
Tipper,
I trust you got the rest of the story!
This happens to me a lot…LOL
I trust that ‘old booger’ most of the time, but he can look me straight in the eye, with his jaws a’floppin’ and still be pullin’ the wool over my eyes!
Most of the time he’s jesting…I’m learning after being married to him nearly 50 years…but every once in a while he still can pull a ‘rusty rouge’ on me!
Thanks Tipper,
PS…It is cold here and supposed to be colder later today…a threat of snow by the first of the week…
Sounds like a bit of mischief is about to happen! Hummm!
Yep, sometimes the truth is not exactly the thing we want to hear.
Dear Blind Pig Family!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers through my recent “scare” and illness. I was not able to access Blind Pig the day dear Tipper told you of my illness and so many responded with prayers for me, but Tipper kindly sent me that day’s post after I got home and could read it! I overflowed with your love and concern. Thanks, thanks. I am not going to belabor what happened to me, except to let people know that God officiated at my recovery and let me know with certainty that He’s not finished with me yet! If you have facebook connection, I invite you to go to facebook (Ethelene Jones) and read what I have to write today in my devotional “Worth Considering. A Thought for Today. In Everything Give Thanks.” I love and appreciate all of you and count you as friends/family. Praise!
