It’s that time of the year again…the time to host a variety of giveaways as a way of saying THANK YOU to Blind Pig and The Acorn readers. If you didn’t know it, you’re the best blog readers in the whole wide world!
There’ll be a variety of giveaways throughout the month so be on the lookout for any that you might like to enter.
In years past, a few readers have emailed saying they’d like to donate something to be given away during the month. If you have something you’d like to share send me an email at blindpigandtheacorn@gmail.com with the details.
The giveaways start today with two of Pap and Paul’s cd “Shepherd of My Soul.” For a chance to win one of the cds, leave a comment on this post. Giveaway ends Sunday November 4. Go here to pick up your own copy of the cd.

I love reading your blog and the other post. You and my cup of coffee , what else could make my day go better ( besides my prayer to God) God Bless!
Thank you, enjoy reading Blind Pig and the Acorn every day
Absolutely, thank you, Tipper, for this wonderful blog, my very favorite. Amen and ditto to Tina’s comments. And while the other readers are beginning their day with you, I always save the best for last and end my day with your blog. I ease back, relax and mentally return to that earlier time as I read what is on your mind for the day and enjoy the readers’ comments. Really! The commenter community is a big part of the richness of The Blind Pig and the Acorn. Thank you, Tipper! God bless.
I have the CD already but I wanted to let you know I have been rewarded far beyond what I deserve. I have had some tough times lately and you have done more than you’ll ever know to keep me afloat. Thank You!

Look forward to your blog everyday!
Tipper, thank you for giving us a treat every morning with The Blind Pig. Thanks to Paul, also, for finding and updating some of the family’s and his and Pap’s old recordings. Also, Tina, beautifully said in your comment.
Somehow I stumbled on to the Blind Pig and Acorn some years ago and I too want to thank you for your blog. It is usually the first thing I read when I have my cup of coffee in the morning. I don’t always have time to comment but I so enjoy reading “about a time that once was,” as mentioned before. A married woman, with children, holding down a full-time job, and being there for her parents, and putting out a blog every day – Amazing!!! Thank you, again!
I am thankful for the day I was searching the internet for something else and stumbled on your blog. You have shared some wonderful recipes, let me get to know your family, brought back so many memories with Appalachian stories, words and sayings. The Blind Pig & The Acorn readers are the thankful ones!
I enjoy your blog – especially the music and reminders of our old ways of doing things.
Tipper,
I already have a cd of “Shepherd of My Soul”, so if my name pops up, please give it to someone else so they can enjoy. I always thought of Pap as the Greatest Generation anyway. …Ken
Tip, love this blog. Keep iit coming.
I’ve played 5string since I was 14. That’s 51 years. bg gospel has always been my favorite. Many’s the time we stayed up till all hours of the night singing gospel tunes. Finding blindpigandtheacorn has been a God send. Thank you Tipper for being here.
Blind pig is the best way to start my morning each day. I have learned so much through this site. Hopefully, Tipper will continue to educate and share the Appalachian stories for many more years.
Every day my first order of business is reading the Blind Pig. So, thank YOU my friend, and the mother of my grandchildren!
Reading BLIND PIG AND THE ACORN is a must every day. You take me back to a time that once was. One of God, family, home, and land. Too often it is forgotten where real peace and happieness comes from. My soul cries for the music from which the mountains sing. Thank you to BLIND PIG AND THE ACORN for the time and energy it takes to make this happen, for all of us who love the appalachian way.
