black-snake

When the girls were filming their last variety show a pretty good size black snake kept them on their toes. The girls did two songs in the show. First up is “Glory Mountain,” the Webster Brother’s song Paul referenced in last Sunday’s Pickin and Grinnin in the Kitchen Spot. Next up they tackled a Jay Ungar and Molly Mason fiddle tune “Blue River Waltz.” And then Little Joey gave a yoger (yoga) lesson. If you ask me their show is must see tv. Take a look and see if you don’t agree. And if you have trouble understanding what they’re saying you can click the little square cc on the bottom right side of the video for captions. Youtube doesn’t always get their accents right, but they’re pretty close.

I hope you enjoyed the music and the silliness as much as I do!

  4. Tipper,
Today is my youngest daughter’s birthday. I called Jennifer and wished her “Happy Birthday”.

I also called the Christian Radio Station at Murphy and spoke to Donna Lynn. When she asked me what I’d like to hear, I said “Number 90 on the Pressley Girls Youtube channel” where the whole family sings “Rock of Ages”. Chitter can’t be still and they let her play the Violin . …Ken

  5. Tipper,
I saw this video and songs last week sometime and enjoyed it. The Pressley Girls are so professional now, and they play just like they got no care in the World. That Blacksnake likes their music too!

One time my uncle-in-law (Toots’ husband) took me into his workshop to show me how he made Waterwheels. He was fumbling for something overhead on a shelf, when he caught a huge snake and carried it outside. He called that thing “Luke” and warned it to not be in his coon dog’s lot either. It was longer than a hoe handle, but Tommy talked to that thing just like it was a person. …Ken

  6. Two lovely girls that you and your hubby can be real proud of. Wish that we were related and that I lived just the next holler over so my wife and I could be around you all.

  7. Haha…I liked it a lot. I got down on the floor to join in on some yogurt. Managed to do the table top. It was hard. Had to be helped up. I look forward to some more of that yogurt. I want to feel good too.

  8. I think the girls’ variety show is better than anything on TV. I like the way Corie applies the brakes. When The Pressley Girls get their tour bus she’ll be the one to drive it.

    1. Some in our groups frequently miss the “foot.” I’ve been thinking of something you could step on with your shoe and a great big foot would pop up.

  9. Your girls make me miss our daughter. I suppose you or the Deer Hunter or both have told them they can’t go far away.

Lovely day, lovely music and song and lovely young ladies. You are blessed to have them in the back yard, snake and all. I notice they don’t get the fantodds about the snake being around somewhere. Just kinda like “as long as he doesn’t surprise me.”

  10. The song was lovely and the yoga lesson is hilarious! Those are some talented girls you got there, Tip! I’m gonna send this to all the yoga people I know!
