Pat Enright
Last week Paul shared a video of the old song “Baby Blue Eyes” in honor of Pat Enright who passed away a few weeks ago. You can hear Paul speak of Enright and his contributions to bluegrass music after he sings the song in the video below.
Enright was one of the founding members of the highly acclaimed Nashville Bluegrass Band. Our whole family adores their music. They had some of the tightest harmonies you’ll hear as well as outstanding music. In addition to all that they chose the best songs to record.
I fell in love with the song “Baby Blue Eyes’ the first time I heard Enright sing it. The song was written by Jim Eanes. I liked it so much I convinced Corie to sing it back in the day.
Pap just loved it when Corie sang it! He told me it was one of his father’s favorite songs and that every time he heard Corie’s bright clear voice singing it he could close his eyes and be just a boy in overalls standing in a mule plowed field on the banks of the Hiwassee River.

Sunday September 20 at Heritage Church in Van Buren Arkansas. The address is 1604 Pointer Trail, Van Buren, AR 72956. There’s a traditional service at 9:00 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11:00 a.m. Doyle will be part of both services.
The shows will primarily be showcasing Doyle’s amazing talent, but Paul will do a song or two and is beyond honored to be included.

Tipper. Do you know of a recipe regarding burn salve or who would have some for sale? My grandmother make a burn salve out turpentine, lard and elderberry. That is all I can remember. I was 12 when she passed back in the 60s. Your help is greatly appreciated. Have a blessed day. Pat was a great singer. I used to see him play all the time in Nashville.

only a few hours from where I am in Oklahoma but no one to take me to see them–health probably wouldn’t allow it anyway but it would sure be great to meet Paul…he is such a joy to listen to, but then I guess it runs in your family because I could listen to you, Paul, your mom and dad talk all day long hope you are feeling back to normal
I think Baby Blue Eyes is a really good song and Paul played and sang beautifully. Congratulations to Paul getting to go on tour with Doyle. If you’ve made it to Branson- you’ve made it. Good morning Tipper and Acorns. TY for the video. I love hearing Paul sing. I’ll go over and listen again on youtube so I can like and share it from there. I hope folks give a good turnout for their tour. I hope they can come to Johnson County some day either at Heritage Hall or one of our churches in Mountain City. I’d love to meet Paul. I gotta go change Ed’s bed linen so he can get back in bed and start a load of laundry. Love y’all.
