Original music by Pap Jerry Wilson

Paul is getting close to finishing up the cd he’s been working on for the last few years. I say getting close, but I know there’s still work to do on the great labor of love. I guess I should say at least the end is within sight.

Pap had so many wonderful songs and Paul really wants to make sure they’re recorded for other folks to hear. The messages within the songs are ones that should be spread far and wide.

A few month’s back Chatter, Paul, and I played some of his songs for the monthly gospel singing at Martins Creek Community Center.

Here’s a couple of songs from the performance.

I hope you enjoyed the songs! I’ll keep you updated on the cd Paul’s working on. We hope to do a lot leading up to its actual release so I’ll keep you in the loop.

You can hear some of the tracks at the first two links below.

I mentioned I was going to sell almanac calendars because so many folks said they couldn’t find them. I knew people were interested, but I didn’t know they would go so fast. If you’d like to make sure you get one you can visit this page.

Also I did a reading of the poem I shared yesterday: Old Christmas Morning.

  1. Well, I ordered a calendar! Then enjoyed the the tunes. Loving Corie’s solos and breaks. I can tell she’s working hard and it shows!

  2. Beautiful songs. I especially like the last one they did. I am going to definitely buy the CD when it is released. I am happy you all are so strongly continuing on your Wilson family music.

  3. Another great blog post! Thank you, Tipper. The music was great. I could almost hear Pap’s high lonesome tenor as y’all played.

FYI: The etsy page shows the price of calendar in pounds sterling. £19 something

  4. Tipper, after seeing younger pictures of Granny in past post and the one of Pap in today’s post, I can tell who favors which parent. You and really your girls favor Granny in her youth. Paul favors Pap in his younger years. Like today’s picture of Pap. At first glance I thought it was Paul. Now I know Paul is turning gray like the rest of us already have, but he sure does favor Pap in facial features. I’ve not seen a lot of pictures of Steve, or I might have just missed them, so I can’t say one way or another about who he favors more most, Pap or Granny or both. But one thing that’s been passed down for sure is Pap’s love of music and pure talent! Loved the song you, Paul and Chatter!

  5. The calendars sold out. Please let me know if you get anymore. Thank you!! I use to get one at my home town bank but they don’t make them anymore

  6. Thank you, Tipper, Paul and Corie. That’s without a doubt some of the very best singing I’ve ever heard. It just keeps wrapping itself around one’s soul, entertaining and thrilling my spirits

  7. How beautiful! You all did a wonderful job, and I am so happy that Paul is doing this so Pap’s music will continue on. I know Pap has to be smiling from ear to ear. Tipper, I loved you reading the poem. If you had said, “Boo!” I would have jumped. I was on edge, wonderful job!! Friday night’s reading also was really good. Sad but good. Sidney was a strong girl to go through what she did. Also, I love the calendar but since I don’t garden, I’ll let others order that do. It’s a wonderful calendar and growing up we always had one and they are hard to find now. Have a blessed Sunday everyone!!

  8. Paul and Corie’s harmony is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so nuch for sharing, I am looking forward to Paul’s cd. I wish I lived closer so I could attend all the local singings. What are the titles of these songs? .

  9. This was a beautiful part of my Sunday morning! It sure brought a smile to my face when noticing how Paul and Cori both tapped their foot together. Without coordinating together, they are together and it was interesting how they tapped out their own rhythm but she seemed to add a little extra tapping at the end of each ‘group’ of coordinated taps. They should watch this looking just at their feet – so fun!

  10. And your Dad has now lived the words of each song. Truly there are unknowns in the tomorrows ahead for each of us, we can know that much. We can also know the One who does know and in His good time we will go home. In the meantime we meet the unknowns as they come.

  11. I love listening to Paul, Corie, and you perform your Dad’s songs. Hearing the words to all of your Dad’s songs always brings me comfort, joy, and peace. I am excited that Paul has almost finished this cd. He has poured his heart into it, as your Dad poured his heart into writing the songs the Holy Spirit laid on his own heart and mind. All the hearts involved to bring this wonderful musical message of Salvation and Grace to so many hearts that will hear it! Hmmmm – the word “heart” is deeply imbedded in this project. I pray many, many hearts will open and receive Christ as their own personal Savior through this cd, and that those hearts that already belong to Him – will be richly blessed from hearing these beautiful words even more!

    Donna. : )

  12. Thank you, Paul, Tipper & Corie. I don’t need to tell you how those songs have already ministered. I’m really glad Paul is undertaking this.
