Matt Tipper Corie Katie and Austin

We decorated the tree over the weekend and had a grand time! Chatter wanted eggnog so I made us some to enjoy as a dessert after eating a fine meal The Deer Hunter made for us. Deer burgers and French fries were on the menu.

It was an especially enjoyable time since we have been celebrating two new additions to our family! Chatter and Austin are expecting a baby next summer. As you can imagine we are all thrilled.

There will only be about three months between Chitter and Chatter’s babies. I’m over the moon excited to meet them both and thrilled that they will grow up together. With two little ones around I’m sure The Deer Hunter and I will feel like we’ve traveled back in time to when the girls were babies.

I’m sharing more winners from this year’s Thankful November Giveaways. If you see your name please send your mailing address to me at blindpigandtheacorn @ gmail.com and I will send you your book or cd.

The winner of Common Phrases and Where They Come From written by John Mordock & Myron Korach is Robert Hutchens who said: “I studied German for 5 years. It’s my understanding the high German was the urban or ‘citified’ version of the language and low German was the rural or ‘country-fied’ version. I’ve also seen high German used to identify the language of those who lived in the mountains of Bavaria or Austria.”

The winner of Dorie Woman of the Mountains written by Florence Cope Bush is Shae M Nickerson who said “Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! So happy Granny got to ring the bell! When I rang the bell I was so happy I yanked the handle plumb off the bell! They said that happens a lot. I would love a copy of the book. I have ancestry in Appalachia, but my faction of the family came West, so I grew up in the Rocky Mountains, but still feel a special kinship with Appalachia, and truly feel like I am your neighbor through your site and videos. God Bless each and every one!”

The winner of Appalachian Values written by Loyal Jones is Cassie Clark who said “My family is like that. The best funny stories come out in the darkest of times. Some of my best memories are of the family gatherings following a funeral. It’s healing to sit and laugh with your loved ones. During moments like that, Mamaw would start telling a joke and get so tickled she never could spit out the punchline. I don’t think I ever heard her complete a joke. Papaw or daddy had to jump in to finish it for her. I miss that.”

The winner of Pap and Paul’s “Songs of Christmas” cd is Wanda Frazier Hearn who said “Your music is always a welcomed post!!!”

The winners of the flawed copies of Celebrating Southern Appalachian Food written by Jim Casada and Tipper Pressley are:

Quinn Piper who said “Well, I would be delighted and honored to win a “flawed” copy of your cookbook – I would consider it a unique birthday present!”

Cindy who said: “This Texas Nana could sure use some Appalachian cooking! I love watching your videos and pray for blessings for you and your family in the coming year.”

Mary Ann Hendrick who said “Thank you Tipper I would love a flawed cookbook. We all come to salvation flawed and are made perfect in his eyes. Your and Jim’s cook book will be prefect in my eyes Tipper. My prayers for Granny always held dear, my prayers for you, Matt and the girls as well Tipper.”

The winner of the second Dorie Woman of the Mountains book written by Florence Cope Bush is Logan Carmichael who said “Hearing a story like this makes me thankful for the lesser-extreme home remedies and even modern medicines and over the counter things I grew up with! If you were any manner of sick with a “bug” be it of the stomach or a head cold, there wasn’t hardly a thing that some staple items couldn’t fix! Things like ginger ale, chicken noodle soup, crackers, elderberry extracts or wine, stinging nettle tea, activated charcoal capsules, prune juice, Rock & Rye for a real bad cough, and of course local honey! And for anything those things couldn’t lick there was Pepto-Bismol, Vick’s “Salve” (vapo rub), ipecac syrup, and Mercuro-Chrome or Methiolate as it became later. As much “Vick’s Salve” and Pepto as my Granny and Dad used in their lives, you’d think they owned stock in the companies that made them! HA! They didn’t have to be sick or need it–they just used it. If it was cold season or just winter time, they couldn’t go to bed without using copious amounts of salve on their neck and chest and any stomach discomfort at all called for a swig of the pink stuff! I think the only two things there not really found today and probably somewhat dangerous like the carbolic acid mentioned in the book are ipecac syrup and Mercuro-Chrome/Methiolate. I still stand by that that latter one worked well and cured many a scrape or cut I got as a young boy…and you wore those faint red stains as a badge of honor for whatever foolery got you the injury!”

The winner of Mommy Goose Rhymes from the Mountains written by Mike Norris is Susie Murphy who said “If she said his place is a mess, I’m glad she can’t see mine!!”

I’ve heard from all of the previous winners except one:

The winner of another copy of Appalachian Values is Nancy Johnson who said: “Congratulations to all the winners thus far. I definitely want to know more about Appalachia. My daughter and family live in Charlotte and when I come to visit, I really like to head to the mountains to enjoy the environment and the people who live there.”

Congratulations to all the winners! Don’t forget to email me your mailing address.

Today’s Thankful November giveaway is a flawed copy of Celebrating Southern Appalachian Food written by Jim Casada and Tipper Pressley. There will be 3 winners. Leave a comment on this post to be entered. *Giveaway ends December 8, 2023.

  9. Tipper, I am so thrilled for your precious family. I am excited to hear your great news that now, 2 little ones are on the way to bless your Appalachian home in the new year. And Miss Cindy’s legacy will carry on. I was very happy to see granny ring that bell completing her treatment. I have already purchased a copy of yours and Jim’s cookbook and enjoying it very much. Thanks again for celebrating Appalachia with us. May God continue to bless each of you.

  10. Proverbs 17:6 Grandchildren are the crown of old men, And the glory of sons is their fathers.
Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Congratulations to the new moms and prayers for happy deliveries! May you and the Deer Hunter rejoice in the new grandbabies!

  11. I never did care for eggnog. As they say, not my cup of tea. We did decorate. our tree too and enjoyed it very much.

  12. Oh my goodness! Another baby on the way. You are so blessed. You think you are over the moon right now, just wait until you hold that grand baby in your arms for the first time and look down on it’s face. It will bring you to tears and you’ll realize what a miracle the Lord has created. Cherish the moments because before you know it those 2 little en’s will be chasing the chickens, grazing in the garden and saying the darndest things. Once 2 of my grands, both 5 years old went down a whole row of tomato plants and pulled nearly every green tomato off they could reach, taking a bite out of each one thinking they were green apples and then threw them on the ground before I caught them. All I could do was just stand there laughing as they spit and sputtered from the bitter taste.

Flawed cookbook…no, a little blemished but still perfect… yes. I would love to have a copy. I’m sure from watching videos of some of the things you’ve cooked from the book that there are a lot of recipes from my childhood in the mountains of east Tennessee that I’ve forgotten through the years. All three of my grands are grown now and each has started a hand written cookbook of their own of all their favorite meals that I cook. My youngest grandson once said something about my sausage gravy and I told him he needed to write it down because I won’t always be around to fix it for him. The look of shock that came over his face. It had never dawned on him that I wasn’t going to live forever. From that day on he’s right at my side every time he comes to visit when I’m cooking.

  13. A nice picture of all of ya’ll in front of the tree. Where’s Granny? Should have included her. Next years photo will be grand with two new grands added. The Lord is sure blessing this family.

  14. Congratulations Tipper & Matt on 2 grand babies. I’m excited for you all. Can hardly wait for them to be born so we can all see pictures

  15. Are you telling the sex of the babies yet? No matter they will grow up thick as theives and will only have stolen HEARTS. I am HAPPY FOR YOUR FAMILY.
This flawed cook would be tickled pink to get a flawed cookbook of yours anyday!

  16. Congratulations on the good news! I am sure you will both have a happy New Year with two new grandchildren! Glad for both of your daughters.

  17. Congratulations to all of you! I am so jealous of grandbabies!! I want ten or twelve….teeheehee! These babies will be so spoiled, and that is the way it should be. All the BP&A readers and bloggers will stand in line to babysit!! Love and prayers to all of you and Granny and Little Mama 1 and Little Mama 2!

  18. Thank you, Tipper, for your extreme generosity of spirit and deed! You are a Godsend and great example to us all.

    Congratulations to all the winners.

Tipper, I’m in the process of training a new email client. When I get it tamed, I’ll send you my particulars.

  19. I am so excited for you all for the two babies coming! Such a blessing and joy!!!
Congrats to the next set of winners! )
May God bless and keep you!

  20. I would love a copy of the cookbook! I’ve watched your videos for a long time and would be so happy to have an on-hand reference. You add some sanity to an oft-insane world.

  21. CONGRATULATIONS ALL AROUND TO YOUR VERY BLESSED FAMILY. You all have so much love to give those precious babies they will never be without. Jennifer

  22. Congratulations on the upcoming new additions to your family. What a blessing! I’ve been watching many of your videos but I’m afraid that I’m missing out on your new daily Christmas postings that you’ve just started doing this December. I’m not sure how to find them. Any help there? Your Christmas tree looked so pretty and I loved to hear Greensleeves. I played it over and over and over again. Thank you for sharing so many of your wonderful blessings. I look forward to it every day.

  23. Loving the grandbaby news. We have a new family arrival in February. We call our grands “critters”. That will be 6 critters wandering around our forest! The eldest daughter and her hubby thought they were done. She is 38. She said that is considered an older mom. According to all the genealogy records I see, that is misinformation!!! lol

  24. Such exciting news! Two new grandbabies. I’m so happy for you. I enjoyed the tree trimming video. I loved the homemade ornaments that have so many memories attached to them. They go up every year on my tree too. I would love to have a copy of your cookbook. Merry Christmas

  25. Congratulations! What a special Christmas present from Corrie and Austin. I was suspecting because Corrie had that glow. Merry Christmas and the tree is beautiful as always!

  26. I would love a “flawed” copy to give my mother – I already have purchased one for myself. Looking through it is a walk through my childhood and I know it would bring back so many memories of her mother for her!

  27. Such wonderful news for the family! Congrats to all of you!! First you had twins Tipper, now the twins are bringing you two new bundles of joy!!

  28. Congratulations to all the winners and once again to the two precious little ones that will be arriving in 2024. What a blessing from heaven! There is truly nothing in the world like being a grandparent and those little ones are already blessed with a wonderful, loving family. The Lord took Miss Cindy but gave back to you two blessings. God’s perfect timing. I expect Pap is smiling also. Praying for all of you and praying Granny will get some good news this week.

  29. I envy you two – Our only daughter is almost 50 and never married. She said if we wanted grandchildren we should have adopted more children. If you get too tired to chase the rug rats/tricycle motors call me. I can provide references for my child sitting abilities. I mistreat them as if they were my own. Two of my wife’s sisters delivered on the same day, just minutes apart. They had the same doctor who told them if they were ever pregnant at the same time again they both needed to find a different doctor.

  30. I’m so happy to hear news about the upcoming grandbabies. also about granny ringing the bell for her last treatment of cancer treatment. I pray it helped her and she is done with all of that.

  31. I am so happy for Katie and now Corrie and their happy news. also happy to see a bit more of Katie. Hope to see more of you Katie you have been missed

  32. I am so happy for the grandparents and the parents of the babies on the way. What a blessing. Preparations for babies are so much fun. Getting ready for my “grands” meant the joy of buying sweet little things for babies. I’m feeling that joy just thinking of you all!
I would love a “flawed” copy of your cook book. I made a very old family recipe of frosted gingerbread yesterday, for fellowship at church. So many of my church family went crazy over these. I heard over and over, “I haven’t had these for years and loved them as a kid”. I’m happy that is one of the things I chose to bake. Have a good week all!

  33. As grandparents of 5 wonderful children we share your excitement of announcement. After watching the video yesterday I made a batch of the egg nog. It was really good even without a little “fortification “. I would appreciate a flawed copy of your cookbook

  34. Good morning, Tipper and fellow followers of yours. Oh my gosh!! Two new babies coming in the family!! No doubt you are all over the moon happy. This time next year those babies will be crawling and messing with the Christmas tree, lol! I hope both Katie and Corrie have problem free pregnancies. May God bless you and yours, Tipper, and all the people who love that you share your life with all of us so our days are brightened!

  35. WOW! I never win anything! Thank you, Tipper! And congratulations to all of you on all the new little bundles of joy coming in 2024! Such sweet blessings for your family!

  36. Good Morning, Sweet Friend! I am so excited for the news. I know those babies will enjoy growing up together and it will be a sweet reminder to you of the girls growing up together. So much love to all the family and continuing prayers to Granny, too. Merry Christmas!

  37. My congratulations to all the latest winners in your gracious November Giveaway’s. It all goes to the preservation of life in Appalachia. My time “in the holler” will always be a precious memory for me; it was an interesting and life building experience. Thanks for sharing so much of your family’s life and the happy news of the arrival of now two grands this summer. As many have already said, it is a wonderful and life changing experience like no other. I am blessed with five grands and expecting our sixth great any day now. Life is indeed good. Our very best to Granny and all in the family.

  38. I sent a package to Katie, and told her I had 10 grandchildren! Also told her to tell you good luck in catching up with me! Your off to a good start! Love your YouTube channel! Your family is always in our prayers. You are truly blessed!❤️

  39. Congratulations to all the new mommas, daddies, mamaws, papaws, and great-grands. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for future deer hunters to be born in the Pressley family. Girls can hunt too!

  40. Like many I’m sure, my eyes brimmed with tears when we heard Kori’s, Austin’s and Olive’s exciting news. It thrilled our hearts and confirmed our wanted suspicions to be true. For me it brought back wonderful memories. My younger sister and her husband had shared the exciting news they were expecting their first child. And just 3 months later God blessed my husband and I to be able to share that same glorious news, we were too. Or should I say, we were two!! God blessed us with twin boys!!’ And wouldn’t you know it, my first ultrasound was on April Fool’s EVE!! Making it doubly hard for the people I worked with to believe me when I returned the next day to share my incredible news.
Praying for you all, especially Granny!

  41. Congratulations on not just one, but now two grand babies! I saw Corie and Austin’s video announcing their news and was so excited for you all? I’m looking forward to hearing all about the two cousins after they arrive this spring/summer. I know you, Matt, Granny and all your family are thrilled! All of us are too! Congratulations to the latest winners of your generous giveaways! Thank you for all you do for your readers beyond your enjoyable posts and videos, we appreciate you so much!

  42. Tipper the tree is beautiful. I am just like you in that I remember where the ornaments came from. I am very sentimental. I LOVE that y’all included Miss Cindy by using the beautiful cups she gave y’all. That was so special. I know she would think the tree is beautiful. Everyone looked so happy standing in front of the tree.

  43. Such a happy time! We have another grand coming in June, too.
Let’s keep our running shoes in good shape!

  44. Congratulations to all the winners! So happy for Corey and Austin- It is so awesome that the girls get to share this life event together!

  45. I am so happy for you and your family. There is nothing like being a grandparent. The girls are so blessed to have grandparents so involved. We have 3 grands and thankfully we live in the same area. In fact, they are coming for a sleepover this week!!!! God is good! Prayers for all. Take care and God bless ❤️

  46. Congratulations on your upcoming grandchildren, and it’s so wonderful that they will be growing up together. I was always so jealous of the kids in my school who saw their cousins every day.

  47. I had to search when I read a comment about Corie’s baby. Found their announcement video. Congratulations to the whole clan! So exciting indeed! Grand babies are so special. It’s a similar but different feeling for the grandparents than being parents. Knowing your family, these will be especially loved babies. What nicknames will go with Chitter and Chatter? I love the pitty-pat of tiny feet when my little ones come to visit. My two older grandsons are about 5 hrs away but the two little ones are in Australia! It’s my turn to visit so I’m packing to leave in a few days to see what a hot Christmas and New Years feels like. It will take over 20 hrs on two planes but that’s better than flights on other routes with multiple planes and longer layovers that I found. My last trip during Covid was a real adventure but the reward to see those little boys made the hassle worthwhile. I am blessed to have two wonderful sons who are great daddies and for the opportunity to visit but I still wish they were all closer. It’s still hard to believe this old country gal has the opportunity to travel so far. I’ll keep reading your posts and watching videos although it will be at a different time of day.
Celebrate the season and enjoy every minute. You deserve it! Thanks again for all you do to share the special Appalachian life.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

  48. Congrats Grandmother. I’m so tickled for all of you. I’m thinking that a flawed copy of your book would look mighty fine on my counter. Thanks for the try.

  49. Good Monday morning all! Congrats to all the winners and a special congratulations to you, Tipper, and your whole family. As a “Grammy” to five beautiful grandchildren, I can safely say— life is gonna be busier and even more joyful. Grandchildren just add such life to a home with their laughter and curiosity about everything. Sending up prayers for your mama and two healthy babies. ❤️

  50. Good morning BP&Aers! Hearty congratulations to each and all of the many winners. I am intrigued all over again, once more of multiple times, at what has been “wrought” here as in “what hath God wrought”. While you may have begun, Tipper, ” celebrating Appalachia” (and still are) BP&A is that and has become so much more. I can’t say this well, but here we celebrate each other both individually and as a whole. And as has been said, ‘the whole is greater than the sum of its parts’. (Forgive me if I am tedious. It is my nature to think from the specific to the general.) I have posted this before but it bears repeating. I heard a grandpa in RabunCounty, GA say, “I know why grandkids are called grandkids now. Because they are grand.” Amen

    1. Ron, you did a good job of describing the BPA and how I feel about it. I think of all the members as family and friends. There is truly something special about grandchildren. A dear lady along with her husband and owners of a country store (the Store ) in my area would say “if I had known my grandchildren would have been such a joy, I would have had them first”. I have also heard it jokingly said grandchildren are God’s gift or reward to parents for not killing their children”. Once again congratulations to the future Granny and Papa and also to the parents.

      1. A friend of mine, herself a grandmother, says that the reason grandchildren and grandparents are as thick as thieves is because they have a common enemy.

(I’ll let you figure that one out. 🙂 )

  51. Congratulations on your news. You and Corrie were doing a video and you asked her if she had anything to share and she said something like yes but I am not sure yet. Due to that and some other things I sort of knew this was coming. We have 7 grandchildren and they are in two groups the oldest 3 are grown men. The second set the eldest is a freshman in college. When his twin sisters were toddlers they lived with us. Our son was between jobs and they lived with us for almost two years .Our house is a double split level and they were able to use the lower level except for kitchen and dining area. It was great having them here. Grandchildren can bring more joy than you can imagine. My wife is a great grandmother and by watching you and Matt, I think you would be great grandparents. I would not mind having one of the cookbooks to add to my collection. From looking at one it is not just a cookbook they extra material is gteat.

  52. Congratulations to you all. When I saw The Pressley Girls video I smiled and and said blessings upon blessings! Grandchildren are a wonderful gift and I am excited for you all.

  53. Congratulations to all of you! What blessings you have in your near future! My mom met her first two grandchildren six months apart, and that was so much fun for her! My sister and me were both expecting at the same time and now our oldest boys are nearly the same ages and get along really well. We will keep praying for you all and for your sweet mama. Merry Christmas and many blessings!

  54. I have already bought eight cookbooks and now only have one. I thought to buy more but don’t have anyone left in this dismal place to give them too. If anyone needs one of your cookbooks and really can’t afford it Tipper, please let me know and I will pay for it. Not only am I willing, I would love to do it. It’s not that I am wealthy by any means and some people might call me a fool but whatever I have to do without to help someone in need will be returned to me. Acts 20:35 tells us “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” I am witness to that in my own life.

A long time ago when money was still worth something a man approached me is a Best Buy parking lot saying he needed money to get back to Shatley Springs in Ashe County (Ashe County is where Christmas trees abound). His car had broken down and it took everything he had to fix it. His pregnant wife was hungry and waiting in the car. All I had was a twenty dollar bill. I gave it to him willingly but with an admonition. I told him that God gave me that money and even if he fooled me, he didn’t fool God. He came to me broke and left me broke. Think about that sentence.

  55. Oh I saw Corey and Austin’s video announcing their good news I was so very happy for you it was a blessing and a privilege to watch as our grandchildren grow up together all so close in age it was chaotic when we got together when they were younger but so much joy and laughter
They range in ages 10-17 time as we know the older we get goes fast so take in all thought’s memories as they happen so far you have a wonderful memories and the grand babies will bless you and Matt even more!

  56. I want to congratulate you and your husband and both of your daughters on the new babies coming next year! I will say if you carry a baby up high it’s a girl. If the baby hangs low it’s a boy. That’s a tried and true method and I hope you get grandsons just for the different experience
than rearing girls! For names how about Darryl and his other brother Darryl?! Remember that off Newhart? Lol I swear it’s a joke I find funny at 8 am! What a grand new year awaits you all!!! Here’s prayers for the whole family cause it’s looking like y’all can use the extra help from the Lord Jesus especially at this time! Gods blessings to every single one of the readers and their families too!!! Hillbilly families and friends can never have enough members (in my opinion) and the more the merrier!!!

  57. What wonderful news! It makes me think ahead a year, and what your Christmas preparations will be like mext year! Last night’s video had me laughing out loud with all of you! The tree is beautiful!

  58. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Two grandbabies that is so exciting!!
Eggnog is a tradition at our house in Christmas but I was never a fan of it! Merry Christmas!!

  59. Congratulations on your two grandchildren!! I bet knowing these two are on the way is good medicine for Granny.
    Have a wonderful week.

  60. Congratulations to the winners and to you for becoming soon-to-be grandparents. Would love to win one of your cookbooks.

  61. I’m so happy for your family! I’m also happy for the winners! I won “Appalachia, the Voices of Singing Birds” earlier in November and I just love it. Merry Christmas!

  62. What joyful news! Prayers for the “little ones” safe arrivals, it is truly a blessing from God. Have a wonderful Christmas!

  63. When you first told of Katie being pregnant, I thought “oh it would be such a good thing for Corie to be pregnant too, so her sister would not be in that journey alone. They are so close that I know they are beyond thrilled to have their babies grow up together! I am happy for you all, also excited to see if there will be two boys, and the names, I love names and naming things, I think that is the fun part of having a baby, picking out the name! Congratulations to all!

  64. Congratulations again on another sweet addition to your family! How exciting that both girls will be able to raise their children so close together. Our boys are 17 months apart and they have been so close through the years. They are now 25 & 23. My husband and I have been watching your channel for a few years now and are so happy to enjoy good, clean, family-oriented “tv”. At this point, we feel like we are a part of the Appalachian family! We love the mountains but live in the DFW area until our future retirement takes us away. I love to garden & bake desserts & my husband loves to cook. We would love a copy of the flawed cookbook to enjoy recipes from the Appalachians! Prayers for Granny & the girls & blessings to all!

    1. Kelly, my wife had 4 sisters. She and another sister lacked 2 days being a year apart in age. My wife Aug. 3, 1955 and her sister, Wanda Aug. 1, 1956. Her and Wanda were always very close to one another. I joke about this, there were no brothers, I say poor Father in law, 5 girls, a wife and 1 bathroom! Bushes are just beginning to grow again around the edge of the backyard.

  65. Tipper, I feel like Miss Cindy is up there in our glorious heaven imploring the Father to “let them BOTH have babies!” I could not be happier for your family!

  66. I would love ac copy of your flawed cookbook I’m sure I grew up on some of your recipes I read your column every morning and can relate to a most of them.
I appreciate all the stories and information about Appalachian life.i live in the Appalachian mountains and am very Thankful I can. Thank You Tipper and congratulations on your soon to be Grand babies. They sure are a Blessing.

  67. I love your recipes they bring back so many childhood memories. The apple stack cake my Granny used to make was so delicious and your biscuits remind me of my Mamaw’s. I enjoy watching you and your family and all the different foods you make that I used to eat and some I still eat now . I am sending prayers for your beautiful girls and Austin too for their new blessings that God has given them. And sending prayers for Granny she reminds me so much of my granny she loved to crochet too. And to cook for her family and she taught us grandkids to crochet too and to cook as well. But nothing ever taste the way hers always did. Love your Christmas Tree I too put my grown children and now my grandkids ornaments that they made for me. I love Christmas so much that I put up three trees. Have a wonderful day! And thank you for sharing your lives and your recipes with me.

  68. Congratulations with the newest addition that is coming to your family!!! Grand children are the best and knowing that these 2 will get to grow up together is the best!
And I would love to have a flawed addition of your cookbook!

  69. Congratulations! It will almost be like having twins again! As close as your girls are, I’m sure it is special for them to raise babies together. Prayers for all! I would enjoy a cookbook flawed or not!

  70. So happy for all of you! Granny must be so excited. She has a lot of crocheting to do! Blessing to you all and in good health.

  71. I would be happy with a flawed copy. I think I would treasure it even more. I never mind a treasure that’s a little dinged up. It adds character.
Congratulations on the babies! My kids and their cousins grew up(and are still growing up) together like siblings. That’s a real treasure too.

  72. Congratulations on your new future additions! So much excitement! Next year’s Christmas family picture will be so cute with your new grand babies included! Cousins growing up together, what a blessing! My sister and I had our babies 3 days apart. They grew up like brother and sister. I called them my twins. My granddaughter is having a baby boy in April. I’ll be babysitting while she finishes college. Lots of changes coming to both of our homes. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.

  73. Reading these posts has become part of my daily routine. I love reading what everyone has to say. So excited to hear the girls will be raising their kiddos at the same time. That will be really fun. I feel like I’m friends with all of you after watching your videos on a regular basis. You’re so down to earth. Lots of your stories have a familiar ring to what I grew up with. It’s still hunting season in Pennsylvania, so I’m cooking something new every night to feed the hungry hunters. Always looking for new recipes so a new cookbook would be great! Good luck to everyone!
Remind Granny Ps 103:3 NLT says “He forgives all my sins and heals ALL my diseases”. That’s a great scripture for her to stand on. Looking forward to hearing a good report for her soon.

  74. Good Monday morning everyone.
Congratulations to all the winners and especially to the Pressley family for the new addition that will be arriving this summer.
Blessings and prayers sent to all.

  75. I am very excited for the expected new additions to the family! I would like to share that grandchildren bring the greatest of happiness, and it will surprise one how much they can add to life. We don’t have the full responsibility, but we get in on all the joy they bring. We forget what cute things they say, and later may struggle to recall them. I kept a calendar which I still have and wrote down the most memorable comments of my last grandchild. Occasionally, I get that out and read some of the cutest things he ever said to him, and we have a good laugh. I saved money ahead for first cars etc., because I had matured enough to look ahead and see how that would be needed. Being a grandparent is such a special role, and I am certain Granny would agree. I often wondered how my grandparents could spread so much love over the hordes of grandchildren that invaded their little farm on weekends and during the summer. So happy for all of you! Granny needs to get a head start on that crocheting or knitting.

  76. Tipper, I just knew it! Corie looked holler eyed and puny awhile back. I told my husband if I didn’t know better I would think she was with child. It’s that look most of us mommas have had in the beginning. So exciting for you and the deer hunter!

Our first grandbabies were twin girls followed by a grandson 10 months later. Those cousins are so close now! We now have 7 grandchildren and what a blessing they all are!

May the Lord bless Corie and Katie with good health, easy births and healthy babies! So thankful to God to bring good news in hard times! Blessings to all!

  77. Hi Tipper, I’d love a copy! Perhaps a copy of your ‘Flawed” recipes will slightly enhance my flawed cooking techniques…!!
    Merry Christmas to All!

  78. Congratulations to all of the winners and especially Chitter, Chatter and Austin. Tipper and The Deer Hunter are in for a lifetime treat and will discover there’s a special love and feeling grandparents have for their grandchildren that can’t be explained with words. My luck has held true (bad) so I have bought 4 of the books that were given away. I would buy the 2 cookbooks for wife if she was still alive- she loved cookbooks.

This is about yesterday’s post and song. I went to a candlelight service last night/evening at the cemetery where my wife, daughter, and other family members and many friends are buried. The speaker mentioned and used words from yesterday’s song “What Child Is He or this” in his message. I had trouble remembering the exact title and was afraid I would loose what I had already written if I went back to look.
