In a world that is drifting and changing
When the faith of the people is torn
There’s a nation of hope and of freedom
Where the sons of courage are born
It’s the land of the Star Spangle Banner
Tis a nation as fair as the day
Thank God for the land born of freedom
Thank God for the U.S.A.

Thank God for the U.S.A.
Land of the brave and true
Thank God for the true American way
For the stars and the red white and blue

Thank God for the land we love
Life and our liberty
Thank God for the right to be an American
Thank God for the U.S.A.

To our almighty father in heaven
To the One who ranks higher than all
May He lead may He guide us and keep us
By His grace we never shall fall
For the stars and the stripes of Old Glory
Let us humbly earnestly pray
Thank God for the land born of freedom
Thank God for the U.S.A.

Thank God for the U.S.A.
Land of the brave and true
Thank God for the true American way
For the stars and the red white and blue

Thank God for the land we love
Life and our liberty
Thank God for the right to be an American
Thank God for the U.S.A.

  2. Thank God, indeed, for those men and women who forsook all to carve out this place of freedom with which we all are so greatly blessed, and for those who came after to preserve it.

Happy Independence Day to all of the Blind Pig and Acorn congregation.

  3. Did I ever enjoy THANK GOD FOR THE USA!!! I danced a little, tapped my feet a lot and clapped my hands to beat the band!!! Murray thought I lost it finally…. lol. What a joy those talented WILSONS are to hear before breakfast or even preaching this morning! Thanks again for the joy, Tipper!!! All my love and well wishes from WV…. 4. I have seen Mr. Brumley’s name many times in the church hymnals but had never encountered this song.

When the signers of the Declaratiion pledged “their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor” they meant that. All three were on the line. They were signing a confession of rebellion and could expect no mercy from King George. On this day of all days, it is fitting that we remember.

  5. I loved hearing that song this morning before I head off to church. Paul and Pap do a wonderful job singing it. I don’t know how Pap and Paul remember all the verses to ALL the songs they have sung. God Bless you all on this 4th of July!!
