Granny and her first great grand baby Margaret

Granny is 79 years young today. As always, she’s made her own cake and has it ready for all of us to come by and get a piece after work. She had me pick up a 7 and a 9 candle over the weekend so she could blow out the candles. The Deer Hunter and I are gifting her with a load of mushroom compost for her garden. She asked for it saying “You don’t have to get me nothing, but if you’re going to I’d really like some of that mushroom compost. If I don’t get some my garden ain’t going to be worth a flip this year.”

Happy Happy Birthday Granny, we love you.

  9. Isn’t it strange that over time our wants tend to gradually fade. Concurrently with that the value we place on friends and family increases. Seems we would live a better life if we started out that way.

  10. I turned 79 in December and woke up with a thought. Oh My Gosh I am going to be 80 this year. Where did 80 years go??
So much life has been lived and I have lots more I want to do. 79 sounds young but for some reason 80 sounds old to me. I know age is just a state of mind and mine insists on being 40. Sounds like Granny is also 40. Hope her garden is a great success this year. God’s Blessing on her and her garden.
