Earlier this week Paul shared the slideshow from Granny’s funeral on the Blind Pig & the Acorn YouTube channel. You can see it below as well as read what Paul wrote when he published. it.
We can never thank all of you enough for the countless prayers that you prayed for Granny and for our family. I believe those prayers were answered in God’s own merciful and perfect way.
Thank you also for the many, many cards and gifts that you showered upon Granny. I wish that every loving parent and grandparent could receive the level of love and attention that she received during the past few years before she went on to be with the Lord.
For my part, I tried to give her as much as I could, and God gave me that opportunity, especially for the last two years, when I was retired. For all that I gave her, she deserved even much more.
Thank you also for the hundreds of condolences and supportive comments to our family on the Blind Pig & the Acorn channel and blog, the Pressley Girls channel, the Celebrating Appalachia channel, legacy.com, and the Ivie Funeral Home website. We could not respond to each of them, but we did our best to read and appreciate each one.
God bless and keep you all. The video was produced by Ivie’s Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.

This was a beautiful tribute to Granny. Her love of family always showed, warmly, from her face. From the moment of the opening music, to the last note of the comforting hymn, the tears flowed freely for this dear, sweet woman. I didn’t know Granny in the traditional sense, but as my Maw-maw used to say…”She earned her crown in Heaven.” Thank y’all for sharing this/ her with us.
*** That is an old saying in the Appalachian Mountains of eastern Kentucky, where we are from.
What a beautiful tribute to Granny.
I was really touched by your stories of Granny, and my prayers are with you and your whole family. This is my first time to comment, so I hope I did everything right!
Thank you for sharing, she was an amazing lady. She was lucky lady in so many ways.
Beautiful tribute. She fought a good fight. Sending prayers that you all find peace. Losing a beloved family member isn’t easy. May the memories you created sustain you for a long time.
What a lovely to your mother.
Haven’t been on here much. Sorry to hear this. Blessings to you all and may the loveliness of her smile continue through your lives.
Miss Tipper, Paul and Steve and all the families, Again my family and I send our deepest condolences and prayers for your loss of Miss Louzine. Thank God for giving us all a love for this beautiful lady. She was a very faithful, kind, talented soul and so much more. A blessing sent to everyone who knew her and knew of her. If each of us took anything from this precious soul we have been given a great gift. RIP Dear Friend, you will never be forgotten by those of us who had the pleasure of knowing of you.
Such a wonderful tribute to a wonderful lady!!!
Also, forgot to mention that last week our Lenten roses finally burst forth! I was concerned about them but I ended up with pretty fresh flowers for Valentines after all
It’s clear she was a devoted mother/grandmother, a guiding light, and the heart of her family. It’s a gift to everyone who watches it.
So beautiful in every way ! Thank you so much for sharing with us all ! Love & prayers for you all !
I LOVE this photo of Granny. She has the most peaceful look about her here. What a truly beautiful woman. ❤️I greatly enjoyed the slideshow also. It is so kind of your family to choose to share it with us.
This is stirringly beautiful. Perfect for Granny. Continued prayers for your family.
I watched her slideshow on the blind pig channel. It was so sweet. The photo of Granny in her lovely crochet sweater is precious. She felt like a special grandma to us all. Thank you for sharing g her over the years.
big huggg ms tipper….its hard to loose our gamily member no matter our age…part of us is greedy and wants to keep them forever and the other part of us dont want them to suffer anymore…we still miss and love them and we know they in a better body now with God…we just know that someday we will meet again
I watched the video when Paul first posted it and ‘loved’ it then- with leaky eyes – and enjoyed watching it again now and remembering Granny. I was one ‘those’ who left condolences a few times – enclosing love, hugs and prayers to all Granny’s family and those who loved her – to her family there, and those here on the blog and all the videos you all put out. We all came to love Granny through all you shared with us. She was a beautiful and special lady and a blessing to many – even those who never actually met her in person. Thank you all for ‘sharing’ her with us. Remaining in prayer – Wanita from Victoria, B.C. Canada
Thank you for sharing Granny with all of us. She and Pap raised a wonderful family full of love and the way all of you looked after her was such a blessing. It’s wonderful to have such a close-knit family that you can lean on now and in the weeks to come. Once again, thank you for sharing this precious, sweet and loving soul with us. She was a gem.
Good morning, Tipper and Tipper fans! Tipper, I wrote what I thought covered all that I wanted to say but when I tried to send it, it said I said that before, lol! Well, I must try again because I want you to know a bit of what I said. I loved seeing sweet Granny in her amazing sweaters, she was super talented!! I am amazed at how much you look like her, and now you know what you will look like in your old age, lol. You are always sharing how appreciative you are at our supporting your channel, etc, but you have shared with all of us a remarkable true lady in return. I will miss Granny and my heart is deeply sad. Only thing that makes me feel better is she is with her God and her Pap! May God showers us all with His many blessings!!
She is a beautiful lady, inside and out.
Good morning Tipper and Tipper fans! Oh my goodness!! Watching that slide of pictures I had many thoughts go by in my head. First off, I felt as if I lost a good friend. You have shown so many pictures and videos of Granny thru the years, I’ve come to appreciate all her great qualities, and to feel like she’s MY Granny or mother, and I’m sure your other fans have as well. Seeing her in so many beautiful sweaters she made, I just smiled. The things she made blows me out of the water! I was really struck with how very very much you look like your mom, Tipper! A couple pictures just blew me away! Look at your dear mother and you will see what you will look like when you reach her age. If I’m missing Granny so much, I can only imagine….well I can’t actually since she’s YOUR Granny, but of course her leaving will leave a big hole in your life, and I will miss her as well. I sure wish Granny was my family member, what an amazing woman she was!!! Makes me feel good she’s with Pap now! May God shower His blessings on us all and I hope He heals our aching hearts soon.
Granny was and still is a dear, and a wonderful person. I never met her but felt part of the family as you know Tipper dear. This is a wonder tribute and I thank Paul for providing it. Hugs and love to all.
the video. was nice it will give you many memories sorry for your loss Tipper
The slide show of all the loving pictures of Granny was a beautiful way to celebrate her life. She touched so many people throughout her life & I’m honored to be one of them (even though I did not personally know her). I am looking forward to meeting her in heaven. She is resting in peace in the arms of Jesus.
It was a joy to follow Granny through your family’s blogs and channels. This was such a beautiful tribute. It made me want to go back and look at the similar one made for my mama. I haven’t looked at it since she passed 3 years ago at the age of 100 as it made me realize even more how much I missed her presence, and I would usually cry the rest of the day. This time I remembered anew how truly blessed I was to have the parents God gave me, and I thank God every day for the happiness the memories bring me.
What a treasure Granny was! You are a blessed family to have each other.
I twas a lovely tribute. Thank you so much Paul.
I tried to leave my condolences in a couple of places, I don’t know if you received it or not, but you know i love Granny , all your family, God continue to be with you, and comfort you, and bless you, in Jesus name
Paul, I saw the slide show on your YouTube channel after you posted it. It’s a beautiful, loving and sweet memorial to Granny. It showed her legacy of love, family and faith. God gave Granny the ultimate healing of giving her a new heavenly body. She’s now in the arms of Jesus! Pap, her other family members, friends and many more who had lived their life trusting God through believing and accepting in God’s one and only Son Jesus have been waiting to greet her in heaven. Oh what a Home Coming celebration that was in heaven the day Granny passed from this old world to the heavenly realm to be with Jesus. Makes me both sad and excited. What was our loss, is now heavens gain. Prayers continue for you and all the family. You are all deeply loved by all of us subscribers.
I’ve been praying for you, Paul, Tipper, and Steve. There is nothing harder than losing a parent, and mamas are especially difficult. Stay present so you won’t get too lost in grief.
beautiful slide show…you have a beautiful family.
Well, while we here may have been giving something to you all, we were also being given something priceless, as is true once again here today. And that is the example of care and concern that exists here powered by common faith, shared experience, fellow-feeling and hearts of grace even though most of us have never – and likely will never – meet in this world. I am reminded of something Apostle Paul wrote, “Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.” BP&A confirms to me that this world receives grace because of those – however many they be – that look for it and are thankful for it. You all gave Granny the best possible passage from earth to glory, only exceeded by whoever came for her.
As lovely as professional photos are, nothing makes my heart happier than a candid shot that captures the moment and when you look at it, you feel like you could walk right into that moment in time. Granny stirring that pot on her stove(in my heart, it HAS to be green beans) reminds me of a picture my cousin took of our grandma and grandpa. The were sitting at the table in their breakfast nook, drinking coffee, laughing and talking. That picture hangs in my kitchen and makes me feel like they’re here with me. I have that very table they were sitting at plus several other pieces of furniture from their home. Like Granny’s beautiful crocheted sweaters, these things feel like a warm hug. What a beautiful tribute ❤️
It’s amazing to me how one can love and grieve someone so much that they’ve never met. Granny was that person for many of us. Beautiful, sincere, honest, and full of love for her family. She reminded us all of that special woman in our own lives. Our mothers, grandmothers, or sisters. Thank you for sharing her with us! She was precious! Her memory lives on through all y’all! She has gained her reward. Praise God for His mercy, grace, and goodness!
The picture of her in her crocheted sweater is beautiful. You definitely have your mom’s eye’s Tipper
That sideshow was just beautiful! I was just moved by a wonderful slideshow of a lady whose life was well lived for the glory of the Lord Jesus!!! Paul put together a very nice slideshow. THANK YOU for the meaningful and touching share…how very much you favor your dear mother, Miss Tipper!!! You are lovely as was your fair mother!!! God bless and watch over you all at this time. You’re in prayers and well wishes…
The slideshow was beautiful! Precious memories for your family. Prayers and love❣️
I appreciate your family. I read Blind pig with my first cup of coffee. I miss you when you are not there. I know you are missing Granny.
Paul,
It is hard to give up a loved one. Charles and I have given up our parents. We will always remember them– giggling at the funny moments, remembering the wisdom they provided us, and all the traditions they passed down from their parents to us. Now we are continuing this tradition by passing it down memories, traditions, and things our parents would want their grandchildren– our children to know. Be sure to take time to mourn and take time to rest during this difficult time. Time helps but memories always remain.
The picture of her in one of her sweaters is absolutely beautiful. She and Tipper look so much alike.
God Bless,
Charles and Kathy Patterson

Granny was a sweet woman and you all were blessed to have her as your mother. Continued prayers for each of you during this time of loss.
she was a very special lady. so sorry for your loss
I hope Mrs. Wilson realized how many people she touched beyond her circle of friends and family. Thank y’all for sharing her with us over the years.
God bless your family Tipper
Tipper, I only knew Granny from what you have wrote about her. She reminded me in many ways of my wife’s grandmother. I adopted Granny for my grandmother. From what I saw and read, none of her family has any reason for regrets, y’all did everything you possibly could for her. I remember last year, you even did something as simple as plant her some green beans. I am sure she knew and appreciated everything y’all did and loved all of you.
