Chitter (Katie) and Chatter (Corie)
How in the world did I get old enough to have 26 year old children? It’s a question I ask myself on a regular basis. I’m pretty sure The Deer Hunter does too.
Twenty-six years ago today we were two nervous soon to be first time parents sitting in a Gainesville Georgia hospital wondering what in the world we’d got ourselves into.
The pregnancy was a complicated one. From the morning sickness that never stopped to almost losing them five months along I was in and out of the hospital the entire time.
Even the day they were born didn’t go as planned.
I’d had round the clock monitoring and medication to keep me from going into labor but once it was time to have them labor wasn’t an option.
As crazy as it sounds I was more scared of natural childbirth than a c-section. I’d had surgery before, but whatever was causing the woman down the hall to scream for hours was something I hadn’t experienced and didn’t think I wanted to.
Even with all the twists and turns of a difficult pregnancy and delivery the girls were healthy and big (6.7 and 5.13 pounds)for twins born almost a month early. They didn’t even need the neonatal team that was on standby.
From the day we brought them home Chatter and Chitter have brought nothing but sunshine, love, and laughter to us. I’ve always said they’re both better girls than I ever was and that’s the truth.
The Deer Hunter and I hit the jackpot when we had twin girls.

Happy Birthday to you both! Wow. 26. Boy, do I remember those days!!! My oldest is getting ready to turn 19 in 2 months & trust me, you can not believe how fast time flies. To your parents, its seems like it was just yesterday. If you have children one day, you will understand. My daughter made us laugh so hard today & I got thinking…What would we have ever done without them? Hope your day was special & just think, you always have someone ready to celebrate with you!

I love having family birthdays. Oct daughter will be 54 & Nov son 57. Here in Sept we had 2 birthdays, the youngest turned 2 & this wk one will be 5. Seems every first of month, I get to assemble a gift or two. Need & a want. Don’t want to spoil them too much.
Congratulations on successful rearing two lovely young ladies. When grandbabies start coming, you may exclaim you’re too young but who doesn’t love a sweet face? And the best part, you aren’t the one needing to get up at all hours of the night.

You and my son Fred are the same age, and from what I’ve read here on the blog your birth stories are very similar. I wasn’t supposed to be able to have any children, but I prayed and God proved the doctors wrong. After a very difficult pregnancy and childbirth our miracle baby was born. He turned 26 in February, and he’s the joy of our life.
Happy Birthday to Katie & Corie & kudos to you & Matt for raising 2 beautiful, smart, loving daughters. As much of a joy the girls are for me, I know it is a drop in the bucket to how much joy they are to you & Matt. Where does the time go? It gets away awhile we aren’t looking and then suddenly something focuses us on the calendar and we are shocked. Happens, I think, to each of us.
Children certainly are a blessing; a challenge, a wonder, a marvel and a puzzle among many other things. This tired old world was also blessed with your all’s pair of blessings. We were told before our daughter was born that ‘children would change our life’. And so it was and so it should be. Our two are our blessing as your two are to you and the Deer Hunter.

Life is yet but a vapor. Think 70 years ago my parents had never flown on an airplane. My grand parents had only had electricity for less than 20 years. The investment of time is our greatest asset. The Lord has blessed even the non-believers. Maybe soon you’ll be a grandmother, Tipper. The frost is already on my punkin
Happy birthday to Chitter and Chatter. My wife had problems both times she was pregnant, even though she did everything exactly like her doctor wanted. She had problems with her blood pressure during her pregnancy with our daughter (1980) and we were told early on that something was wrong with the baby when she was pregnant with our son in 1985. It was even hinted to us to consider an abortion but that was out of the question for us. Both were beautiful healthy children. My daughter was killed in an accident on 4wheeler in 2012 but she gave two of the greatest grandsons anyone could ever blessed with. My son was and is a blessing. Every day I thank God for blessing us now me with them.
Happy Birthday to the sweetest twins I know of. Someday I hope to meet them in person.
