Corie and Katie with instruments in field

After finally mastering The Judds’ song “Grandpa Tell Me About The Good Old Days” the girls thought they’d try another Judd hit: “Bye Bye Baby Blues.”

I think I might like it better than the first Judd cover. I’ve yet to listen to it without all the little hairs on the back of my neck standing up when I hear their harmony on the chorus.

Every time they practiced the song I went and stood around the corner where I could hear it first hand. The day they filmed the video they started out in the backyard. I went and stood around the side of the house and swayed in the sunshine 🙂

The bugs and heat drove them inside to the living room couch and then I stood in the kitchen and swayed 🙂

Hope you enjoyed the video as much as I do!

Have a great Sunday!

  1. I love listening to your girls and Paul, they are truly amazing! The three of them singing, Bye, Bye Baby Blues was just beautiful, and yes, the harmony was spot on. All of them sing with such enthusiasm and you can tell they love singing and playing…just beautiful! I love both of your YouTube channels and always look forward to hearing the beautiful music of the, Appalachia. I live in, Idaho, so I am a very long way from where you are, but I am always surprised how similar our traditions are! It is a small world after all! Blessings, Barb

  2. Beautiful job! Thanks! Great harmonies and tasty guitar picking by, I think, Chatter? (Sorry, I still am not sure who is who)

  3. The girls and Paul are mighty good. I have also watched the older blog TheYear Of Music In North Carolina, I can listen to the Wilson Brothers sing those good old time gospel songs all day long. They show the difference between someone that can flat out do it and the ones that think they can. To me they didn’t show off but just get up and do it.

  4. I listened to them on their YouTube channel and I’ll say it again, I like their cover even better that the Judds version. Mighty fine!

  5. Tipper, you have two beautiful, talented girls! Katie sings like an angel and Corie comes in with beautiful perfect harmony. Now I’m going to be honest, I can’t tell if that’s Paul or not, but he played with wonderfully. Love that song and they all did it a great job. I truly enjoyed it!

  6. Such sweet harmony. The girls just get better everyday. Thanks to Paul for tickling those strings so well and thank you for posting it.

  7. I saw and heard this on UTube yesterday, it is both fantastic and amazing how they have grown in their music! Loved it

  8. They did excellently!! I love their voices together. Corie did so wonderful playing lead, and Katie sang with such clarity. Paul’s rhythm was so soothing, and Corie complicated Katie with her voice. All three of them are so talented. They are the best! They always have been! Their harmony has always been perfect to my ears, even years ago. Their little girl voices have grown into young adult voices, but they have always sounded beautiful together! They nailed this song and made it their own!!!
