Yall are good gardeners and working companions but I was worried you were going to get brain freeze from your popsicle. If you have a dollar tree or dollar general, try the Italian Ice freeze pops they have. They are so good but it takes two to make a good snack.
Those garden surprises of volunteer plants are one of the rewards of gardening. You all have really built that ground slowly but surely. It is a very much different looking place now I’m sure than when you first moved in; hand crafted with love and attention to detail. That’s what I mean when I say “farmstead”.
I’ve probably written this before. (I don’t trust my memory anymore for many things.) But you and Matt would like Burkes Garden in Tazewell County, Virginia. It’s out of the way, like Cattaloochee, but if you all ever get up that way and have the time I don’t think you would be sorry if you went to see it.
I wonder if dried petals of Granny Gazzie’s rose would keep their smell. I have dried petals of a pink rose that showed up here in the road ditch. They turned purpley-pink in drying and kept a very faint smell but their scent was not strong to start with. Somebody needs to invent a wire mesh base for a table lamp to put potpurri in.
Yes, Ron, I enjoy the volunteers. I’ve got a volunteer squash with “babies” already and the ones I planted are way behind it.
That was an uplifting sweet video! I really enjoyed the education on soap making and you and Matt are a good example of a couple working as a team. Love it. I have pieces of plants that were in both mine and my husband’s Mothers and Grandmother’s flower gardens and I think of them every time I admire the beauty of the plants. Thanks for the beautiful view of the creek and forest as they are always a favorite of mine.
The soap turned out beautiful. I’m trying to get the nerve to make a batch, but only after I watch Chatter’s video several more times. The strawberry sconce looks yummy.
I think she did an awesome job on the soap. I have a question Tipper. If you have sensitive skin, would this soap break you out or anything?
Gigi-Chitter has extremely sensitive skin-the girl is allergic to just about everything 🙂 and the soap works good for her. Of course every person is different so I can’t say for sure. Have a great day!!
I so enjoyed visiting with you this morning! My favorite part was when you and Matt were sitting together, chatting, and eating popsicles. Such a sweet scene! It warmed my heart. I am so thankful Corie showed us the finished product of her soap, too! And, of course, the music was so wonderful. Thank you for sharing these special, everyday moments in your life with us. Sending love and hugs to all of you and much gratitude for all you do to make this world a better, more normal place.
I’ve decided after much objective evidence it must be impossible to be sad or down around you folks with all the happy fiddling, guitar playing and singing going on!!! I absolutely enjoy listening to and watching the family play, but especially I like the sparkle and glee in Chitter’s and Chatter’s beautiful eyes as they do what they enjoy and are good at it too!!! That soap is the prettiest and neatest thing I ever saw!!! I bet your bedroom or wherever you stashed the soap smells wonderful!!! The strawberry scones take the cake so to speak!!! I cant say I ever have seen such before and I bet they are plumb tasty!!! Well I’m entertaining expensive plumbers again today! I expect to drop around 2,000 $ and it’s a killer to my economy but it’s going to be nice. God bless all today in the BP& A family!!!
We don’t call this God’s Country for nothing! The mountains in spring are beyond beautiful with the hope of things to come. The mountains can look so bleak through the winter but spring pops through every year with the promise of all things beautiful and fruitful.
