white and pink blooms on tree

We have new neighbors and couldn’t be happier about it!

Chatter and Austin’s house finally sold and they were able to buy my brother and sister-n-law’s house which is just below us.

Steve and Kim’s kids are all raised and gone from home. They decided they wanted to downsize from the large home. It took them a while to find the perfect place but they moved just before Christmas. Their new home is very nice and surrounded by beautiful views.

As soon as Chatter and Austin listed their house a good offer came in and it seemed like things were going to happen quickly. But the buyer backed out at the last minute and by then folks were busy with Christmas and the showings sort of petered out.

In January things picked up and although they had several bites, there was no offer that they could accept.

Although it was rather nerve wracking waiting on the right person to come along and purchase the house, looking back from here I see it happened right when it was supposed to.

We are thrilled to have Chatter and Austin so close to us. They are both excited to be in a more remote area and with a baby on the way they are thankful for the extra room and the large yard and creek that will be perfect for children to play in.

The other day we were eating a quick sandwich outside. Chatter and I were marveling at the beautiful crabapple tree Steve and Kim planted so many years ago.

The blooms are beautiful and the smell is amazing.

As we talked, I realized we were both still thinking of it as Steve and Kim’s tree and yard.

I gently shook Chatter’s arm and said “It’s your tree now.”

Tears of happiness shown in our eyes as we thought about being mother and daughter and neighbors.

  2. A big congrats to all of you that Corie and Austin are now able to live very close by! Soon there will be two littles running around enjoying the land and creek. What a wonderful answer to your prayers. God’s timing is always perfect. My husband and I recently moved back to Kentucky after living in Alaska for a few years. Our Alaska home sold quickly, and our goal is to move even further south closer to family, that includes three grand kiddos. We look forward to more frequent family gatherings!

  6. Tipper,

Just curious. Are you and Matt, Granny, Corie and Austin, and Uncle Paul all neighbors or are there other houses in the “holler”? I bet at one time it was all Wilson’s in your area. That’s neat.

  7. So happy that you have them close. What a blessing it will be to watch your grandson grow up. Where does your other daughter live? I hope close also. Everything happens for a reason. You do not see it at that time but you will on down the road. I wish I had my grandchildren close to me.

  8. That is just the best news. I’m so happy for you all. Plus the arrival of your first grandchild. Bountiful blessings for your dear family.♥️

  9. Considering the various things you have posted about Austen and Corie, it sure seems to me there is a guiding hand behind them. But of course not just for them but for “all y’all”, including Steve and Kim, up to and including they two and their kids can always now go back to “the old house” for a visit if they want to. I love to see grace made visible.

The family is very blessed to have the home and family together and knowing you will be there for each other, everyday if needed. 15. As I have said before, I’m so happy for Corie and Austin and all of you!! There is nothing more wonderful than being close by your family. We built our first home beside my parents when I was expecting, and I can tell you there was nothing more comforting than having both Mama and Daddy near as my husband worked shifts and just knowing they were there was so reassuring. My brother and his family lived on the other side of me, so we all were within walking distance of each other. Precious times. I know everyone in Wilson holler is thrilled. God’s perfect timing!!!

  16. Such a blessing to have the family and those babies close by. Congratulations to all. May you make many happy memories together.

  17. Such ‘heart happy’ new for you all, Tipper even if it can be hard sitting in God’s waiting room for things to come to pass in the way we hope they will.

  18. That is SO WONDERFUL! I am so happy for all of you and glad that you all are so close together now! It is important to have someone you trust so close by.

  19. I’m so thrilled for you all! I have prayed diligently that Chatter and Austin’s house in Murphy would sell in time. I can’t wait for the videos that will be forthcoming from their new home. I’ve already enjoyed Matt’s countertop video. It reminds me of the times when my husband and I invested huge sweat equities in homes we built in Florida and Tennessee. Praise the Lord for answered prayer!

  20. So happy to hear that Chatter and Austin sold their home and are neighbors with you now. Thank you, Tipper, for the beautiful words above. I know that Chatter and Austin will be so happy to be close to you and the family. Prayers for Chatter and the little one. God bless you all.

  21. It’s wonderful to have your grandkids so close, so happy for all of you! My two grandsons live within walking distance and it has been a joyous blessing to have them so close. They are now 16 and 18 years old, with the oldest about to graduate and then entering the Army National Guard this summer. It’s so unbelievable how time flies. We’re so proud of him…and so worried because of the state of this world. He is a faith filled, upstanding young man, I know Gods got him. But this grandma’s heart is struggling. He’s been rolling his eyes at me a lot lately lol! He’s already served three weekends with the Guard and is enjoying the challenge and is looking forward to his basic training. We would certainly love prayers for him, his name is Jacob❤️

  22. I am so happy for everyone. Being that close to your children and grandchildren is a blessing beyond words. My closest children and grandchildren are 500 miles away, and seeing them is challenging as they all have jobs/careers. You are so fortunate. It was nearly 1 1/2 years before I first met my first great grandchild, but it was a glorious day when we finally met.

  23. I was so excited that Katie’s son is here and they both are healthy and that truly is a blessing. I also am happy for you all that Kori and Austen will be your neighbors and that the boys will be so close to each other.
Having your children and grandchildren near by is a blessing and I wish mine was close they all live in different states. So enjoy everyday and remember it is a gift from God that you are so blessed.

I hope Granny is still doing well and I know she is so excited to have a new addition to the family to spoil!

  24. I am so happy for them and for you and Matt & Katie & Ira! You will never find better neighbors than Corie & Austin! God’s timing was perfect in all of this. Congratulations!

  25. The weather radar is showing snow up in the northwestern part of the county here and in all of Avery County. I don’t think its gonna make it here but you never know. Looks like the northern part of Cherokee County might get a little too.

  26. Chatter and Austin’s baby boy will get to hike the same hills and play in the same creek where his momma made memories to share with him. Sounds like a dream come true to me!

  27. Yeah, it’s funny how hind sight works like that. When you’re in the middle of a situation and praying about it it so easy to get frustrated and feel like the heavens are brass and that surely your prayers are going unheard. And then with time and a little perspective, we see that we were just being impatient and short sighted. Why if a feller didn’t know better, it might make you think that there really is someone who is ordering our footsteps :).

I’ve learned that God is never late, but He is rarely in as big a hurry as I am.

  28. Great news, Tipper, having them so close, and in a house with lots of memories. God Bless all. 🙂

  29. I couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy grandchildren and of experiencing all of the joys to come than living close to your children. I never had grandparents and missed out on that experience. I enjoyed listening to your video last evening answering viewers questions. A lot goes into making the videos. Blessings to you and your family.

  30. Most of my life I roamed like a nomad and can testify having a house and piece of earth to call one’s own, really means a piece of mind and putting down roots that run deeply into the earth. My brother used to tell me “a rolling stone gathers no moss” and he was right. Now I’m all covered in mossy rocks up here on this big hill. Lol I’m so very happy for Chatter, Austin and their baby! All things happen in their time- I firmly believe that! I’m happy you, Deer Hunter, Chitter, Ira and granny will have your other babies close by. I hope your garden plants are coming along! I found Epsom salt water and alkaline water pepped up my houseplants. If I’m nutrient deficient, so are these plants. I hope you got a kick outa the video I sent. I watched it 20 times and found myself dancing with door open all the while the rain pouring like buckets! I’m having fun doing the silliest stuff ever and I’m keeping it real in the hills! Lol bless you all and the don’t forget to literally bless each entry with oil and dedicate the new homestead to the Lord! Have I? You’d better believe it! Jesus is everything to me!!! Bless you all and may blessings rain down over you! Welcome to the hacienda!!!

  31. This is awesome news!!! You all will enjoy having each other close by and your grandchildren will really have a grand time growing up together. God’s timing is always perfect timing!

  32. I couldn’t be more happy for ya’ll. Everything just kind fell right into place, like God had it planned. It is so exciting and I so look forward to every video and blog post.

Four generations on the same piece of land is like Heaven. Well, that would be my idea of Heaven anyway.

  33. Oh Tipper, these are such exciting times! It’s wonderful to have your growing family close around you, and those grandsons will have wonderful homes, surrounded by loved ones. It’s wonderful to see these changes, especially when we see how supportive your family is. You’re always there for each other. God’s blessings just continue to flow. He is so good!

  34. I couldn’t be happier for all of you. I think that the closeness you all share is absolutely wonderful!!!!!
    GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

  35. Congratulations to Austin and Chatter! For my wife and me, living close to our families was most important to us when we married. We may have had more money or better careers somewhere else, but the joy of being close and able to spend time with our families outweighed it. God blessed us, we always had everything we needed but maybe not all our wants. Tipper, you and Matt will soon have 2 little boys running around you all day long. Better buy a larger freezer to hold the popsicles you will need!

  36. The picture of the crab apple tree blossoms is gorgeous. I am happy for you that your children are living so close. I have always wished my children lived just across a field…close enough for the grandchildren to run to Grammy’s anytime they wanted. I guess I am lucky they don’t live states away. One lives just about four or five miles away and the other a couple hours. I still wish they were my next door neighbors, I am just so very glad for you…enjoy!

  37. God’s timing is the best timing and His blessings make your cup overflow….so happy for you all. Hope your mom is still doing well, miss seeing her on your videos as frequently as she use to be (or at least it seems she was on more often)

  38. I’m so happy that things turned out well and the Pressley-Wilson family can be all together.
We have not had any updates on Granny lately and hope she is doing well. I’m sure she is happy that the grandkids and great grandkids are so close.
    God bless and keep you.

  39. I loved your video and your answering question that we ‘viewers’ have. Seems we are nosey huh?..Your good news about the house, gardening and your new name, Grandma. God’s Blessings all around. Still praying for Granny and you guys and appreciating what God does for us.
