Sometimes I listen to the Blind Pig and The Acorn Youtube Channel while I work. The other day I really enjoyed hearing the old love song “Just About Then.”
In fact, I enjoyed it so much I listened to it about ten times in a row 🙂
Pap and Paul learned the song from Reno and Smiley. We uploaded the video just 16 days before Pap died back in 2016.
Although the song has a sad refrain about love Pap and Paul’s sweet harmony make it a true pleasure to listen to.

There is just something so special, the vocal blending of a family who love one another , care deeply for each other ,that have sung together precious amounts of time , when you hear it , you hear it, and something of their love spills right out on you …. :), …… so thankful, …… if I could have ever come home with Pap, I would want to join right in with the singing , and savoring.
Tipper,
When I was at one of Paul and Pap’s concerts, I never will forget what Pap use to tell me—“Go home with me.” My daddy use to say that to people he was talking with.
Hope you and the Girls and Paul have a good time at Blairsville today at the Mountain Heritage Festival. …Ken
I so enjoyed it this Sunday morning. What perfect harmony.
Sad songs make me happy!
Tipper,
Bill Younce says, “Pap was the Best Tenor he ever heard.’ And he knows alot, been our Radio Announcer on WKRK in Murphy for about 50 years Paul and Pap have been Favorites of mine for years. They sing with such clarity that even I can understand, and I don’t hear so well anymore.
The Tarheels WON yesterday against the SEC team, The SC Game Cox. The Game Cox were ahead until the fourth quarter when the Tarheels took over and beat ’em 24 to 20. …Ken
