FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. EVELYN LOUZINE WILSON WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD, 2026 DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.
We have six inches of snow in Wilson Holler. It is beautiful! The bitter cold has prevented any of the road ways in our area from melting and there is a salt shortage in Western North Carolina as well.
Because of the hazardous conditions Granny’s funeral has been moved to Tuesday instead of Monday.
You can see the complete obituary here.
Thank you so very much for your caring condolences. They are greatly appreciated!!

Hello Tipper,
I was just on the phone with mom and she told me about your mother passing. We know exactly where she is and know that her and Jerry are rejoicing around the throne together. Please know that you are in our prayers for comfort. Those of us who know that there is a life of joy here and now, but there is also life after death. This makes it much easier for us to look beyond this sadness and loneliness to a new day when we will rejoice with them. The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians, if in this life only we have hope in Christ Jesus, we were of all men most miserable. I am so grateful that we have a hope beyond this life.
Today is 3 years since dad passed. So many good memories of the days gone by at Martins Creek Church with all of us. We love you all!
I just learned of your sweet Granny’s passing. My heart goes out to all your family as you each make your individual journeys of grief and celebrations of her life.
May the Lord bless you and keep you in his care.
In Love and Light – Lois Madden
None of us can live without losing someone we love, but it is never easy, no matter how old they are or what the circumstances are. She will be greatly missed, but she lives on in your memories, in your genes, and in her artistic crochet, singing and recipes, too. Try to hang on to the wisdom she taught all of you and the guidance she exemplified in her own long, productive life. Try to be thankful you had her as long s you did, and she is not lingering and suffering now. She loved all of you, was extremely proud of your returned love, strength, support, and decisions on her behalf. She would want you to continue living happy lives, just as she did when she lost loved ones, and there were many in her long life. Thank you for sharing her with thousands who are feeling your grief and wishing you well. Certainly, you will never stop missing her, but we must accept what we can’t change. Continue to love and support each other as all of you mourn this tremendous loss and change in your lives.
We are so sorry for your loss. We lost my mother 1 1/2 years ago. Every day is hard. But we smile and remember. We are thankful for the things she taught us. Your mother was a pearl. As I know you will, smile and relish in all she brought to your lives. Dad and I miss watching you. We hope you will be back soon but we understand the need to hunker down with your family. Much love to all of you.

Tipper, so sorry to hear of Granny’s passing. She will be greatly missed by so many; but I know how much you will miss her. The loss of the last parent is so very heart breaking. I can only imagine Granny & Pap meeting again, what a glorious time! I’m just a couple years younger than Granny, I miss my mother & wish I could talk with her almost daily. My husband has been gone almost 10 years, we were married almost 48; I’m looking forward to seeing him again. Your precious memories will warm your heart. Prayers continue for the comfort of you & family.
PS Tipper: I knew that April was married & had 2 children. I just saw her married name, Alexander, in Granny’s obituary. My maiden name is Alexander. We’re from Western KY, actually North Western KY.
“Everyone’s Granny” will be missed as our hearts break with you. While the hole in your hearts won’t soon heal, may God’s strength alone give you peace as you grieve. Prayers from Rogersville, Missouri

Sending you and family my heartfelt condolences. I feel like I really know Granny. I’ve enjoyed the posts that included her so much. Blessings!
Tipper honey I am so sorry about your mama, I know exactly how you feel. I lost my mama in 2019 and it’s devastating. I had really lost her prior to 2019 because she had Alzheimers and didn’t know who i was but the day she passed she took apart of me with her. I will be definitely be praying for your family and your broken heart. I am in tears typing this because I know so well what you are feeling. I love your YouTube channel and watch all of them. I also subscribed to The Blind Pig and the Acorn. I have your cookbook as well. Take you some time off your audience will be waiting for you.❤️
Dear Tipper, You all have my sincere sympathy. Your Mama reminded me of my own dear Mama. You are in my prayers. I haven’t posted much on the BP&A because I am also dealing with the loss of our precious daughter. She was just 33 years old and Corrie and Katie remind me so much of her. Sometimes the hurt is so deep that I feel that I can’t bear the resemblence or reminders. Please keep me and my family in your prayers too. I love you all very much.
Sending you and your family prayers.
Tipper, my heart aches for you and the loss of your dear sweet mother. God is good to bring us support in times like these, but the tears do come and grief helps healing to come, although it has a taste of bitterness. Hang on to your sweet memories and hold on to our Lord and your family and friends. I am praying for you all!
Much Love,
Beverly
Dear Tipper and family…thinking of you and praying for you. Love, Brenda
Love and prayers to all of you.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I began watching Celebrating Appalachia a couple years ago. It brings such positivity and peace. I truly enjoyed the episodes with your granny. May God comfort you and your family.
Oh my. So sorry for the loss of Granny!
I am sooo sorry…..❤️❤️❤️
I am so sorry Tipper & family for your loss of Granny. May God hold you all close in the days to come. Imagine the reunion with your Dad, her husband and with her mother and father. But to look upon our Lord’s face makes me happy to think of. Oh how beautiful Heaven must be! It hurts us so bad especially a dad and a mom but when you get past that and start thinking of God’s promises for the believer, it takes on a different feeling in our soul. I love you all very much. Love and prayers being sent y’alls way.
Tipper and family- My heart and prayers go to all of you! Granny is talking with her Lord about all of you. Isn’t it wonderful you will see her again, it doesn’t stop the missing her though! Pamela

the only bright spot in this is that Tipper got some snow 🙂 But so sorry for your loss and of course Granny’s eternal gain.
With heartfelt sorrow in the loss of your sweet mama praying that the Lord will wrap his loving arms around you and comfort you in this time of grief. You can rejoice in knowing that your mama is in the Lord’s loving arms. She has been such a blessing to everyone that knows her setting examples of a truly godly woman . In Christian love, sincerely Alice.

Your snow is beautiful, Tipper. I pray it brings you a comfort and joy to see. Keeping you all in thoughts and prayers as you lay Granny to rest. Love and hugs from Kentucky!
I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet mother and Granny. May God give her rest where the Saints repose. Jesus said “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted”. This is my prayer for your family and all those who love her.
Hello Tipper and fans! I’m sorry dear Granny missed the beauty of the snow, but I don’t imagine she’s sorry. Knowing how much you have wanted snow, perhaps she played a part in giving you SIX inches!! She’s with her beloved Pap now, and I wish I could have seen their greeting! At 76 and a cancer that can come back at any time, my days here are closing down and I eagerly wait to see my Howie, too. Know that I am thinking and praying for you!
May she rest in Peace!! And you all know the great lovely consolation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!
♥️Miss Louzine had true craftsmanship. Her talents were almost endless. She was such a blessing to so many. Rest in peace sweet friend. You are now in the hands and bosom of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Very sorry to hear Granny has passed. My thoughts are with you.
That is so beautiful I thank you for sharing it with us, i wish I knew someone to crochet me one.
We got 11″ of snow in SC…so unusual for us to get more than you, and the coast got 14″…so incredible! Continuing prayers for y’all as walk this path with the family. Granny will be dearly missed by so many…and so many like me who never actually met her. ❤️ from SC, Jane
My Sincere Condolences to the family and relatives. Granny will be missed. We know where she is, and she’s all healed! My heart went out to you and the family when I read the post about her. Again, My my Sympathies are with you all. We Love you!
Tipper, just a nice thought, but I figure this is a pretty good possibility, that Granny must have asked God to send you snow. She knew how much you wanted it. God said yes because He wanted to send you love from Granny and from Him. Take your grandsons out to play, build a snowman and go sledding at Granny’s, even if you don’t feel up to it, do it anyway. Granny wants to see you all having fun and making wonderful memories with them sweet boys on their first real snow. Enjoy the gift of snow from God and Granny!
Love and continued prayers for you all.
Love and prayers ongoing for you all!!! May y’all stay warm and safe and lose no power or other necessities.
My deepest condolences on the loss of your grandmother. She will always be smiling down on you and all her loved ones from Heaven.
I hope your cherished memories of her bring you comfort. I think of my grandmother every day, and I know you will think of your Granny every day, too.
Not surprised at the funeral being postponed. It became necessary in our family once.
Granny sent you snow ❄️
Tipper, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know your family will miss your mom greatly, know that she and your dad are together again and think of the reunion that is going on up there.
You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Maggie. (in Indiana)
Continued prayers for peace and comfort for all of you.
Looks like Granny sent you your much-desired snow! ❤
When my first mother-in-law and best friend passed, it snowed so much that her funeral had to be postponed, in March! She hated snow, and we figured she was laughing that she didn’t have to be here for it.
(((((((HUGS)))))))
Prayers for peace and comfort for you and your family
Tipper finally has 6 inches of snow which she has longed for a very long time! I hope you can get out in it and traipse through it at least a little bit. I’m certain you will find a tranquil peace there. We got close to a foot here in Marion, VA. Yesterday I got to see a northern flicker and blue jay in a lovely demonstration of male dominance at the bird seed area. Let’s just say old flicker kept right on eating while jay got upset. They cancelled my doctor appointment today so I’m glad about that! The photo of the hill looks lovely in the first light of day. Tipper, there’s many prayers for you and your beautiful family to just make it through at this tremendous time of loss of your dear precious mother. I am sorry and saddened by this heart breaking news. Y’all be careful in this foul weather.
Tipper,
Your mother’s passing breaks my heart for you. My Sweet Little Mama went to be with the Lord a little over two years ago and life has not been the same. She was sweet and good and loved the Lord Jesus, just like your own sweet Mother. I know you are a believer and I hope you will take comfort in Revelation 21:4 “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. ” God will make all things new. This is one of the greatest and most loving promises in the Bible.
I have followed you for many, many years and always enjoyed listening to your Mama & Daddy. You and I both had a good Mama and Daddy, and I know you are as thankful as I am for them. Oh, thank the LORD we will see them again!
Love in Christ,

My goodness, Tipper. I am still and will continue to pray for yall during this time of great sadness and during this weather. The snow is beautiful, but I know the timing is not good. we all love yall.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We just went through this same thing with my cousin and had to postpone his funeral for a week here in Indiana due to inclement weather.
❤️
I am so very sorry for your loss. Granny was a beautiful person inside and out.
Tipper my prayers are with all of you as you mourn the loss of your mother.
Again I’m sorry for your loss Tipper and your family may God comfort your soul today as you wait until tomorrow
I am new to your wonderful videos and blogs. I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. But I know even though she is with Sweet Jesus, she will be missed greatly. I will be praying for you and your family through the next few weeks for strength and comfort.
I have been thinking of you getting the snow you wanted but not getting to enjoy it. I have also been thinking and praying for Granny’s family. I don’t pretend to understand how God works, I think I saw around 250 members had left comments, but I know 250 is not even a drop in the bucket when considering the total number of members and others God used Granny to touch and bring joy and love to in their lives. I am sure God is well pleased with how Granny used her time in the DASH between the two dates on her headstone.
I woke up thinking about you. Praying for you and the family.
it broke my heart to hear about the passing of Granny, God comfort the family, we didn’t get much snow here but we got incredibly cold weather and incredibly harsh wind, it’s been as low as 11° fahrenheit, with -3 wind chill, I’m so sorry about the passing of Granny, God comfort the family in Jesus name, so sorry about the weather, God help praise God Granny’s not suffering anymore, praise God she has went to be with Jesus
Granny will always have a special place in my heart even though I never had the honor of meeting her. – Walter from South Carolina
Love, take advantage of this, & go sledding! Enjoy the snow you’ve been wanting. I know Granny would love for you to do that.
much love to you all
