It has been so nice to have Granny home. It’s been pretty nice to sleep in my own bed too. I know Steve and Paul feel the same way I do—happy Granny is feeling better and happy we are all sleeping in our own beds and eating in our own kitchens.

Granny is slowly regaining her strength and working on gaining some of the weight she lost back. She is still pretty weak, but doing better every day.

All of us being back to our normal lives has made me feel like I’m living a peppy fiddle tune.

A couple of months ago the girls uploaded a video of the fiddle tune “Bay of Fundy.” It’s cheery notes fit my mood perfectly.

I hope you enjoyed the fiddle tune and I hope you have a great day!

  1. Tipper, I am so glad to hear that Granny is home and improving. I have been a subscriber of your You Tube channel, and your daughters’ channel for a while and love both. I am just now looking at your blog also. I am from Arkansas. Your family reminds me so much of my own when I was growing up. I believe my grandparents moved to Arkansas from the Caroline area somewhere. The music was a big deal in my family. My dad and his brothers and nephews would gather up at somebody’s house and play for hours and hours on the weekends and whenever two of them got together they were picking or talking about picking. Watching your family takes me back to my childhood.

  2. Glad to hear Granny is home and recovering. The “Bay of Fundy” tune is delightful! I’ve been there twice, and it truly is an amazing place. We stayed in St. Martin near the sea caves. You can walk to them at low tide, but you’d better be out when the tide comes in. Boats in the little harbor literally hang from their moorings at low tide, and the fishing boats have to wait till the water’s high enough to dock. A local showed us where to find a trail on top of the caves; quite a view. Depending on the time of year, the tides can be up to 50 ft, and they come in fast.

  12. Sunday Blessing on you and all your family, Tipper. It is a wonderful time when family is back together again – sitting around their tables, in their own homes, surroundings, and beds. Loved the music and as I was listening I thought those wee boys will grow up just as musical, as they have been listening to their mama’s playing even while in their tummy’s. Have a great day and coming week.

  17. That sure was a peppy tune played by some pretty and talented girls. I’m so glad Granny is continuing to improve! My friend used to make her mom a daily peanut butter milkshake after she lost weight due to an illness. Her doctor said the shakes provide important nutrients and are guaranteed to put the weight back on.

  19. The Bay of Fundy was a great and cheerful fiddle tune for sure, but I think a Bay of Fun sounds like a great place to jump right in and stay forever!!! A hillbilly can dream can’t she? Lol. I do want to thank the feller from up north for the scoop on the real Bay of Fundy as I am all the less ignorant for it!… God bless y’all and May granny be cutting the mustard here before we know it!!!! In Jesus name-thank you, Lord and Amen!!! Too smart to plant in WV just yet, but soon… I see cold and rain creeping around the corners…

  24. Tipper, I’m so happy that Granny is doing better everyday and you all are back home . I know you was missed by all of us and especially by Matt, Katie, Corie, Ira, you could see it in every video they uploaded and on their faces they love you so much. They sure stepped up and took over doing the videos but you could hear the sadness in their voices that you wasn’t there with them and the worry about Granny. They did you proud and that’s why they uploaded the content and wanted you to see that they was keeping the home running as smoothly as they could without you there and then how happy they were fixing you supper when they knew you was coming home for a couple of days it was so sweet them asking if you liked it that brought me to tears them just wanting to please you. If everyone had a family like yours the world would sure be a better place. Sending you all love and peace on this Glorious Sunday ️

Two branches of my family lived beside the British Ft. Cumberland at the head of the Bay of Fundy. The Reynolds had come up from Boston in 1760 to settle on land recently cleared of French Acadians. My ancestor was still a toddler when his fater and older brothers joined a band of Patriots who unsuccessfully tried to seize the fort to turn Nova Scotia into the 14th colony joining the American Revolution. The escaped to the Passamaquoddy area at the lower end of the Bay of Fundy. Private Billy Budd from Fishkill, New York was on the otherside in that war, part of a militia of loyal Americans keeping the British troops in NY city supplied with beef, the origins of the term “cowboys”, though even back then the term had more than one meaning. When the Brits surrendered thousands of Loyal Americans were transported to the Fay of Fundy. Billy and his fellow soldiers were taken to Ft. Cumberland, where he met and married a local girl. Their first child Esther is my direct ancester. The family soon moved down the Bay of Fundy after the Province of Nova Scotia was split in halfnear Ft. Cumberland to form the Loyalist colony of New Brunswick. The Budds relocated to the lower end of the Bay of Fundy where my patriot relations settled the west side in what became Maine, and the loyalist relatives farmed the east side, which became Canada. Those two former enemies were soon intermarrying. The Bay of Fundy has incredible tides and Passamaquoddy is filled with islands and features that make it one of the most magical and beautiful parts of Maine and New Brunswick. The tdies and islands also make that part of the Bay of Fundy a smuggler’s paradise.

  26. That certainly was a cheery tune to listen to this morning. The girls playing is always so sweet. It’s a beautiful morning here in the mountains of WV. We had some rain last night which was great for our garden—but I see blue sky peeking through the clouds—so hopefully the sun is gonna shine soon. I hope you have a beautiful day in Wilson Holler today as well. I wish you a super happy birthday my friend. Take care and God Bless!
