Here’s more winners from the Thankful November giveaways. If you see your name please send your mailing address to me at blindpigandtheacorn @ gmail.com

The winner of Chatter’s soap is Kelly Cannon who said: “I really liked the videos y’all did on making soap! I’ll have to watch again I would like to try making soap. Glad Corie does.”

The winner of the Lamp Lighting Time cd is James Wood who said: “They did a very good job on that song which I’ve haven’t heard in a very long time.”

The winner of my eCookbook is Marilyn Reed who said: “It would be so nice to try your recipes!”

The winner of Appalachian Values is Gloria Hayes who said: “What a sweet story! The older generations are a tough bunch of folks. I think of my own Grandparents and although they didn’t have a lot, when you visited, you left with something in hand, and you appreciated it also. I was brought up to give back and I find so much joy in doing for others. It does my heart good. It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

The winner of Chatter’s green pumpkin is Colleen Moore who said: “I love your website. I watch you on YouTube all the time and just realized you have this website!! Guess I’m a slow learner lol. Love you Tipper.”

The winner of Dorie Woman of the Mountains is Elizabeth who said: “Just loved your readings of Dorie Woman of the Mountains. I would love a copy if I was to be so lucky.”

  1. Love these cute lil’ pumpkins & as a fellow crocheter would love to have some Bling Pig & Acorn ‘march’ in my house! But what I love more is the fact that your daughters are carrying on old traditions & crafts. I have tried to train my two the same. Both can sew, one can knit, one can crochet. One used to make jewelry and the other is a hunter. She just got a beautiful 6 pt & hubby took it to be a shoulder mount; her first mount. I am trying my hand at tanning her hide. We’ll see how it goes. Congrats to all the other winners. Tomorrow I am going to try my hand at winning a turkey at our annual Turkey Raffle that benefits the Rotary. Lots of beer, lots of fun & once in a while you win a turkey!

  2. Hello! We love your videos you and your daughters videos also! I love Cories soap and Katie’s jewelry is all I wear and use for soap now! I did order a pumpkin when Corie had it but I only got one:(. Wish I could have gotten more! We also love your recipes have tried a couple the soup beans and meatloaf and they’re great can’t wait to try more this winter! Keep up the great work with the videos keep the inspiration coming and the girls great work on their Etsy shops!:).

  3. i loved the story of you and matt meeting – i laughed out loud when you told the story of selling matt’s truck! you were so cute and young in your dating pictures and we were too!!! love you all.

  4. Congratulations to everyone! I agree we all are winners when we became part of the BP&A gang. I enjoy seeing Chitter and Chatter’s videos, the music with all the family and Tipper, your video telling how you and Matt met was so special. I shared it with my husband, and we got quite a laugh about you trying to sell Matt’s truck. That was mean, LOL but it worked, didn’t it?? We have been married 46 years and I wouldn’t change a thing. The years fly by. You and Matt make a really sweet couple. So does Corie and Austin and Katie and Nick.

  5. Those pumpkins would make good Christmas gifts for one of my sisters that already has too many decorations. She would love them.

  6. Hi Tipper and congrats to the winners! Those crochet pumpkins are just precious. Both of my Granny’s used to crochet and I still have afghans that they both made. Since they are both gone now, having those handmade items is very special and near and dear to me. I always love handmade gifts more than store bought items because it feels like a piece of that person is connected to the item that they made. It’s very kind that Chatter is sharing these adorable handmade pumpkins with a lucky person. One love.

  7. Congratulations to all the winners! 🙂 I loved the comment Gloria Hayes made. I can relate to it in so many ways. Even though our people were poor they were rich in love. Every time you went to visit they’d always ask if they had anything you need before you left. I miss my Mamaw Dollie so much. She always made you eat before you left her house regardless if you were hungry or not. 🙂

  8. I replied to my own comment. It posted immediately with the standard notice that it would appear permanently once approved. I waited a few minutes and reloaded it. The comment had disappeared. I conclude that replies are going to Neverland, not posting at all, approved or not. Likely you already know this. This needs fixing.

  9. You guys have become a part of our family. “Tipper” is a household name! I love coming home to find a new video has been posted. If not, I watch a old one :). God bless you all!!

  10. I too enjoyed your video with Matt where you discussed your marriage. Matt is usually a man of few words in your videos so it’s nice to hear him open up some. By the way, does he sing?
Along with the love and respect you have for each other, something else I see is a definite partnership.
As I’ve told you before Tipper, you and Matt remind me of my parents. If mom was making kraut dad was there. If dad was painting the house mom was there. If mom was string beans dad was there and so on. Way back when they were first married my dad said when it was time to put hay up in the hay-mow He was in the barn and mom was pitching hay up to him from the hay wagon. According to dad pitching hay up into the hay-mow can be a really exhausting job.
To quote my dear sweet mother “Two heads are better than one even if one is a cabbage head!”

  11. I look forward to checking your posts each morning. And I like reading the responses to them. I make it a point to make a final check late, after about 8 o’clock, to be sure and see than all. There is your story and so many hints of other stories in the comments. Any memento from your thankful November would be a reminder not just of you and yours but all the other “acorns” to; and be thankful all over again.

  12. How I love the Blind Pig and the Acorn! You bring so much enjoyment to my days. Thank you for all you do for us. May the Good Lord bless and keep you. I am thankful that you are part of my everyday routines!

  13. I read all the comments and noticed a couple of things about the display. First, the left margin is not the same for all of the comments–not terribly important, but it looks like some of them have been indented. Second, at 10:30, no one has replied to any of the comments, neither you Tipper nor anyone else. I have never seen this before. This is more important. I am going to try to post a reply to my own comment and see what happens. By the way those pumpkins are as cute as a bug’s ear. In the category of what I am thankful for, your blog/vlog is right up there.

  14. Congratulations to all the winners!!!!! It’s always good to win something, but I get just as excited congratulating the winners as if I had won myself. It just makes me happy, because I know they are excited and happy about winning something and I like being excited and happy for others when good things happen. Thank you Tipper, for having such a giving heart and win or no win, you have made us all happy!

  15. Thanks for all you and your family do. I enjoy your videos and blog very much. I also enjoy The Pressley Girls videos. I love the adventures of Olive the dog! Love the pumpkins!

  16. Congratulations to all the winners!! I feel like a winner too with all the years of enjoying reading The Blind Pig and Acorn which has brought back so many, many sweet memories of my family times!

  17. I enjoy your videos and blog very much, I also enjoy The Pressley Girls videos too. Especially the adventures of Olive the dog! Love the pumpkins! Thanks for all you and your family do.

  18. What Miss Cindy said⬆️⬆️⬆️☺️…. your girls‘s nicknames remind me of my boys when they were little, they named their hamsters Teeter and Totter☺️ I have to say, your video on how you and your husband met was so awesome, I agree, it’s funny why we want to hear those stories about people we really don’t know, but we just do, so thank you for sharing and letting us in. My favorite part of the video is how you both seemed a tad bit embarrassed by it☺️ Seriously your love and respect for each other shines through, and it’s so rare on any television today that it shines through even brighter! Thank you for having the talent and the “want” to just be yourselves, that’s what I’m so bought in on. My husband and I have been married 38 yrs, we’ve lived at the same address for 38 yrs and worked at the same job for 38 yrs (he actually was there 39 yrs but we both just retired.) We too broke up in our 4 years of dating, he too broke up with me…. I didn’t try to sell his truck though ….. I think breaking up, even at such a young age, help us realize “we really did love each other.” Thanks again for your awesome channel and blog!

    1. Lorie, I lost my wife unexpectedly on April 15, 2021. We dated 2 and a half years before we married, she was 19 and I was 20, just two poor county kids that loved each other. We started our life together living in a mobile home and $10 in our joint banking account. We would have celebrated 48 years of marriage on Oct. 26 of this year. I buried my will to live when I buried her. We grew up in church together. I like to tell the story of sitting on the back pew of church one Sunday night in Jan. 1972 checking out the girls instead of listening to the preacher my eyes locked in on her and never left. Three reasons for us staying together was Trust, laughing and teasing each other knowing all along it was done in fun, and Exodus chapter 20, verse 13, Thou shall not kill! Tipper, I apologize, I did not watch the video, it hurts too much much to watch or listen to anything about love. I don’t want to die but at the same I don’t want to live without her.

      1. You & your wife are similar to my husband and I in that we dated starting not long after I entered HS, then, with a little encouragement from the draft, my husband and I married when I was 19 and he was 21 (now married 53 years). I think you are spot on with your 3rd reason for a good marriage! (as well as the other two reasons). You could create a best selling greeting card with those sentiments.! (;-)
I”m guessing your will to live is hiding behind a cloud although it feels buried now; I pray for you that you will find the other things in life that support, encourage, and warm you and that before too long (in God’s time) you will begin to be able to observe, watch, enjoy other’s love experiences and be reminded of the good times you shared with your wife.
I hope you don’t mind me responding to your comment; there was just something about it that touched my heart. Wishing the best for you.

        1. No I did not mind you replying and I thank you for your kind words. We were in high school when we started dating. One other reason I give is that Tylenol is cheaper than divorce lawyers. Yes I have a son and two grandsons to keep living for, but the desire to go on without her is hard to find.

  19. Congratulations to everyone! Looks like Winter is finally going to stay awhile. Everyone stay warm and let’s do some baking

  20. Congratulations to the winners! I do not need to win anything, as I have been doing a major cleanout since we replaced our upstairs carpet with vinyl plank flooring.

  21. Everyone that has found your site is a winner! Thanks Tipper to you and your family for all the time and energy spent to make it possible.

  22. The pumpkins are so pretty and Chatter is so talented! I keep hoping she will crochet some more fingerless gloves to sell in her Etsy shop. I have just about worn mine out.

  23. Thank you for sharing in the most meaningful way your family (traditions, passions, lifestyle) and bringing a bit of your home into our home. Warming, challenging us all to discover what makes our families unique and special. From our house to your house, thank you.

  24. Congrats to all the winners. What cute lil crocheted pumpkins. Thanks for all the time and effort put into making this blog/vlog. Enjoy the simplicity and he old ways of life.

  25. Love the little pumpkins and would like to be entered in the contest. I started watching your YouTube when you were reading the Dorie book. my sister told me about your site and your daughters site. I love watching both of them. One of my first thing I watched of your daughters was Corie and Austin ‘s wedding. I am happy for them. Looking forward to watching more of your all’s videos! Really enjoyed the one of you and Matt talking about how you met.

    1. I also enjoy Tipper’s writings; it could very well be my own memories of childhood, my grandparents, all. Congrats to all.

    2. Hi Tipper,
My husband and I love your YouTube channel. So many of your recipes and word study reminds me of my mother and all my relatives. I was raised in Tennessee but live in Oklahoma now. Thank for sharing so many precious memories. It delights us.
      Ginger

  26. Those are the sweetest little pumpkins, and having been made with love makes them so very special! I would love to own them!

  27. Tipper,
I am a new subscriber and found you on YouTube. I have watched all your videos and more recently found your blog. I really enjoyed your readings from John Parrish. I actually bought one of his books because of your “influence”. I would love to live up in the mountains because I grew up a country girl in Banks County , even though I was born in Atlanta. Both my parents were raised there. My daddy’s family is from the Blairsville area. My maiden name is Dyer and my daddy used to visit Mr. Bluford Dyer to buy his famous sorghum syrup! Daddy always said they were cousins way back. Anyway, I am thankful for you and your creativity and how well you represent the Appalachian people/area. **Would love to win one of those cute pumpkins from Chatter.
Ya’ll have a Happy Thanksgiving. Looking forward to more of your content!
    Sharon Hix

  28. Those pumpkins are very pretty and would really add some beauty to my fall decorations.
Also enjoyed Monday’s post about sorghum syrup. My Daddy’s family loved sorghum, going to Blairsville every fall to buy a case for the coming year. They also grew and ground cane in the 1930s.

  29. Those pumpkins by Chatter are so cute!!! My favorite Aunt was so good at crocheting and knitting. She would have loved these. I miss her so. Her name was Ruth, my mom’s youngest sister. I started a nursing home project three years ago, “Remembering Ruth”. I would love to win these to take to one of the residents! I can just picture them on a side table or in the window frame. Y’all have such giving hearts.

  30. I was raised in an urban area but have always been drawn to the mountains. I am now happily retired in the Appalachian Mountains. The beautiful views, folklore, music and self-reliant way of life sustain me. I start my day reading your blog every morning. Fall is my favorite time of year and I’d be proud to add Chatter’s beautiful crocheted pumpkins to my home.

  31. Those pumpkins are so sweet!
I love your thankful series….it’s been fun but also a daily reminder for all that we have to be thankful for
I enjoyed your video with Matt…it’s refreshing to hear the good marriage stories.
