I’m sharing another riddle from “Way Down Yonder on Troublesome Creek Appalachian Riddles & Rusties” by James Still.
“Awful clever,
Feeds any and everybody,
Quiet when there’s not enough,
Groans when there’s too much,
And never eats a bite.”
—-
The last riddle I shared was from Blind Pig Reader Kenneth Roper. More than a few of you figured out the answer to it-which was “a cow.”
“What has 2 hookers
2 lookers, four stiff-standers,
and a switch-about?”

You have stump me on this one Tipper. I don’t know. I do love your Riddles. Excited to see the answer.
A food grinder …. haha I started to say stomach, but mine can make a lot of noise when there is not enough ..:):)
I think the answer to this riddle is the old grain mill that had the water wheel. It feeds any and every one, quiet when there is not enough and groans when there’s too much.
The dining table?
I agree with Carol, a table.
Our oak table was my Grandmother’s. I refinished it but after 45 years it needs re-done. There are spots where the polyurethane is worn through. But no wonder.
A dining table.
I have never been good at winning games nor answering riddles, but I am so curious by nature that I would have checked back all day to see what sounded right. I think Carol got it right.
A table
