How Beautiful Heaven Must Be

We read of a place that’s called heaven,
It’s made for the pure and the free;
These truths in God’s Word He hath given,
How beautiful heaven must be.

How beautiful heaven must be,
Sweet home of the happy and free;
Fair haven of rest for the weary,
How beautiful heaven must be.

In heaven no drooping nor pining,
No wishing for elsewhere to be;
God’s light is forever there shining,
How beautiful heaven must be.

How beautiful heaven must be,
Sweet home of the happy and free;
Fair haven of rest for the weary,
How beautiful heaven must be.

The angels so sweetly are singing,
Up there by the beautiful sea;
Sweet chords from their gold harps are ringing,
How beautiful heaven must be.

How beautiful heaven must be,
Sweet home of the happy and free;
Fair haven of rest for the weary,
How beautiful heaven must be.

We’ve had revival at church this week. Our pastor felt led to conduct services like they were when Pap was a boy. There were two meetings each day. One at 11:00 a.m. and one at 7:00 p.m.

The church was excited about the old timey revival, but no one really knew what to expect other than the folks old enough to remember attending day services as a child.

It was wonderful. Amazing spirit filled singing and preaching at each service. My cup runneth over.

Taylor helped me figure out what to do here on the Blind Pig during revival week because I knew it would be hard to keep up with every thing: work, garden bounty, and revival. She suggested the interviews and I’m so glad she did! Not only do they need to be documented and shared, they went right along with our week of worship.

I asked Taylor yesterday if she knew what Francis’s favorite gospel song was. She said he loved “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.” I never get tired of hearing Granny and Paul’s version so I was tickled to share it again today.

Francis has been a deacon at our church since I was a girl. Today he is mostly bed fast and doesn’t get out of the house much so he wasn’t able to attend any of the services this week, but I know he was praying for us.
