Today as all of us are eating good food and fellowshipping one with another I’ll be thinking of all the things I have to be thankful for.
Blind Pig Readers are at the top of my thankful list so you’ll be one of the things I study on.
I am truly grateful for each of you who stop by for a daily dose of Appalachia. Your visits and comments make me more determined to continue my endeavor of celebrating and preserving the rich culture and heritage of Appalachia AND they enrich the very life I’m living each day.
I wish each of you a day full of blessings!!
Happy Thanksgiving from the whole Blind Pig Gang! And as Pap used to say “Don’t eat too much or you’ll bust your belly.”

Hey Tipper and all. Happy Thanksgiving to you all as well. I thought about you today. I went to visit my best friend of 65year. She lives in Candor NC. I go the back roads from VA. I went by the Bonesville flour mill store. I always wanna stop and get a bag of flour but haven’t yet. I sure hope ya’ll had a blessed day. You’ll have to hunker down the next few days and stoke the fire. Gonna be colder than blue blazes. It’s gonna be in the teens and twenties at my house near Galax. Bundle up and stay warm!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Hoping everyone has a good. It is a different kind of Thanksgiving for us. We lost our mom in August and the holidays are so hard. But we cooked and had a good meal and spent time together. Our gatherings have really changed over the years with the passing of so many family members. I told my sister “Oh no, we’re now the old people “. lol. I’m thankful for every day and appreciate every minute. Love and prayers to all of you and Hranny too.
Happy Thanksgiving Tipper & Matt and to All of your family. God bless you all.
I’m very thankful to have found you. Each of your YouTube channels are a blessing to me as well as your music.
Still loving this! Keep on keepin’ on! Hope you have had a great Thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.We ate like a (pig) today a d got our belly full and bout going to take a nap. lol
Happy Thanksgiving from Blount County, TN. Our Thanksgiving was different this year. Our special needs 46 year old daughter has COVID and our grandson in the Army and his family will not be here for the first time. I say all of that to say this, we had a warm bed, food on our table and a roof over our heads where many today didn’t have those things. We are very thankful for all the good gifts our heavenly father has bestowed upon us. We hope God blesses each of you. In all things give him praise and glory.
Give Thanks!
Gobble ’til you wobble.
Give Thanks, again.
I hope it’s the best Thanksgiving Day ever for every blind pig and for every acorn. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Live from central Oklahoma.
Thank you Tipper and Matt and your family especially Granny!! This would not be possible to read all the comments had you not created BP.
Love to all
Happy Thanksgiving God Bless You All
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I can’t even begin to list all the things that I am thankful for, but your family is right up there on the top of my list. Your blog & you tube channel (and Katie & Corie’s) is a ray of sunshine to me each time I read & listen to them. I know it’s a lot of work keeping up with what you do for us in all the videoing, editing, posting, etc. but know that it is truly, truly appreciated. May God bless your entire family & special blessings to Granny! Hugs!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I hope that you have a wonderful day.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Tipper and your family. Mine was just opening your blog, which I do daily. It always puts a big smile on my face, and I feel like family.
I don’t remember the year I discovered you, but you sent me a crocheted cap and two handmade note cards. The note cards were used a long time ago, and the cap is used when we have really cold weather. I enjoy your writings every single day. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Thank you, sweet friend, for all you and your family mean to me. I hope y’all have one of your best Thanksgivings yet. I know you will with those two young men that have joined you this year! Much love to you all as you gather! Jane in SC
Happy Thanksgiving from Cleveland, Ohio! ❤️
I am thankful for the BP&A community. You all help me in all kinds of ways. I can find rest and hope here when the world is pressing me. I recall part of a written prayer, “for the blessings we are about to receive, make us truly grateful.” I have puzzled over the relationship between gratitude and ‘being made’ though. I think maybe a better way would be “teach us to be evermore truly grateful”. I have found that both the desire and ability increase with age.
Happy Thanksgiving to all the Wilson/Presley family and all the faithful subscribers! Hope you all have a safe & enjoyable Thanksgiving. I continue my prayers for the people of Western North Carolina & East Tennessee. My heart aches for them, especially during these holidays. May God bless you all. From a friend in Mississippi.
Wishing you many blessings today and throughout the coming year. Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there.
Happy Thanksgiving to Tipper, Deer Hunter, the twins and their families, to Granny, Paul and to all the Blind Pig and the Acorn family. May this be the season to reflect on all that God has blessed you with throughout your life and give Him praise for it all. ❤️

Happy Thanksgiving Tipper to you and all the special people we have met by being part of your world-grateful to have found you when researching Appalachia after my daughter moved to Clyde ❤️
Happy Thanksgiving to all. I hope you enjoy your day whether you are with a big family or just special memories.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Started to count my blessings then I realized I can’t count that high. God is amazing.
I’ve heard Matt say before he begins eating a good meal “I’m gonna make myself sick.”
Correction-Matt’s statement was “I’m gonna hurt mysel.”
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving
Thinking of all the things I’m thankful for today. Jesus, family, home and health. Also for The Blind Pig family….that includes all the readers as well as your family.
Am also praying for all the families going through the aftermath of the hurricane. I pray that they feel God’s love and hold on to the strength we have in Jesus.
Happy thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to Tipper and family and all the good folks here on The Blind Pig and The Acorn. May we all have a blessed day.
Thanking the Lord for The Blind Pig is at the top of my grateful list! We will have 21 members if this family today! I made my Memaw’s Dressing & it is ready to go!
Thankful for all God’s blessings!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. We do indeed have much to be thankful for. My grandfather had a saying when he had eaten all he could hold, “I can still chaw but I can’t swaller.”
Larry, that one made me laugh! I will never forget your grandfather’s line and will use it later today.
I like your grandfather’s saying. I am going to remember and use it.
Your grandfather’s saying reminds me of what my father-in-law used to say at the holiday table, ‘I ‘m so full that when I swallow nothing happens!’ Good times
Happy Thanksgiving ️
Really enjoy reading you every day.
So thankful for this country, family and community. Glad to see it turning around and on the path to greatness again!
My sentiments exactly Bobbi! Here’s to a bright future! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Many blessings to your family on this day of Thanksgiving. In my religion, we are told to thank God ahead of time for all the blessings he gives us every day without even asking for it.
Enjoy your day!

Dear Wanda,
I feel the same way…….Tipper is a joy and a blessing in my life every day…..not just Thanksgiving. I’m so grateful for her…..(both her vlog and her blog) and for all the wonderful comments that come in from all over the world. I love the fact that people everywhere are learning about the true Appalachia……the culture that many of us never learned growing up. Wishing you a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving,
Jackie

A Blessed and bountiful Thanksgiving to you and all your family!
Happy thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here! May you find many blessings in your day! We lift all those in prayer that may be hurting, or in need today. May the Lord bring comfort to hearts that are missing loved ones! God bless you Randy. I think of you often.
Thank you, I shouldn’t write about my wife so much, but I don’t know the right words that describe how much I miss her. Without intending to, it just spills out sometimes.
Randy, I love that you share your wife’s memories with us! I love the stories and it helps with my own memories. Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody, God bless you very much
We are thankful for YOU and your sweet family. For all you share with us and making us feel like part of the family. Praying you are all blessed abundantly this season!
Thanksgiving Blessings to all!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you for the reminders! As I write this the first real snow of the season is turning the ground white, the blueberries from our bushes are thawing, ready for the pie, and 10 pounds of potatoes wait to be peeled. Our family has been blessed with health, jobs, good friends and a wonderful church family. So much to be thankful for each and every day. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your precious family! You are especially blessed today with those sweet little baby boys.
I love how much you enjoy saving seeds. I love it, too and save mine in old pill bottles.
Have a wonderful day❣️
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Hug those grandsons extra tight on there first Thanksgiving. You all make my day with your videos, you and the girls keep up the good uplifting videos.
May you and your family have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. You are on my thankful for list by sharing your Appalachian memories with us. Thank you!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Many things to be thankful for. I hope everyone can spend time with their family or loved ones. To me, if we remember the true meaning, Christmas and Easter should be the most important holidays. Back in the past years when all of mine and my wife’s family members were still alive, I looked more forward for Thanksgiving than the other holidays, now most of these members have passed on, now me and a few others are the oldest members of the families. Many things I enjoyed about Thanksgiving, but one of my greatest joys was going rabbit hunting with my father in law and a few other family members on Thanksgiving morning. In the afternoon after eating dinner I would get my bird dogs and go bird (quail) hunting. A lot of times my Daddy would go with me. When growing up, it was common in my rural area area to hear a pack of beagles running or someone shooting while bird hunting soon after daylight. Now you no longer hear this, very few rabbits, no quail, and lack of a place to hunt. Most of the land if not sold for new homes, has been leased to deer hunters. In South Carolina, the rabbit and quail hunting seasons have always open on Thanksgiving day. Now you only hear a rifle shot, it will be someone deer hunting, there are plenty of them.
While enjoying ourselves, we need to remember and pray for the ones that have lost love ones and the ones that are suffering from the damage of Helene. I have had two lifetime friends die in the past week.
I make no promises to not “bust my belly” if there is some good southern style cornbread dressing on the table!
what a great comment – hunting on thanksgiving. wish we were out there now. God Bless
Larry, I wish I could go back one more time before I die and watch a pair of well trained bird dogs (hopefully a Pointer and an English setter) hunting WILD quail, not today’s barnyard chickens. Did you see my comment the other day about having a half pointer and half setter bird dog? He was not a drop. He would set in the corner of his pen and point at his food bowl!
Yes, we remember those around us who have lost their homes, roads, bridges and even their loved ones during the storm. We give thanks to the many volunteers from all over the country who have swarmed in to love on us and help cleanup and rebuild. The love of God has been so evident in these angels!
Great memories Randy. I always enjoy reading what you comment because often it helps bring recollections for me of growing up and visiting at my grandmother’s farm. I am sorry for the recent loss of two of your life long friends. And I am with you about the southern cornbread dressing, to me the Thanksgiving meal is incomplete without that homemade dish. But really if it’s “dressing”, however it is prepared, I like it : )
