Chitter with baby

Chitter had her baby boy. Both momma and baby are going good. You can hear her talk a bit about it in this video.

As you might guess we are all tickled to death and already deeply in love with the little one.

We went through several discussions about our “grandparent” names. After much debate we settled on Papaw and Grandma. Of course we realize our names may be changed once the little boys begin to talk.

One of Miss Cindy’s friends was Hi Daddy to his grandkids. I thought it was similar to Big Grandma in my family, but learned it was because his grandchild heard its mother say Hi Daddy whenever he visited and the name was born.

On Pap’s side I had Mamaw, Papaw, and Big Grandma who was my Mamaw’s mother. On Granny’s side I only had Granny since her husband died before I was born. I did have an uncle that was always there and he felt like a grandfather, but we called him Uncle Woodrow.

The Deer Hunter had Grandma and Papaw on his father’s side and Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Curtis on his mother’s side.

For our girls it was Pap and Granny on my side; Papaw and Nana for The Deer Hunter’s father and wife and Miss Cindy for his mother.

Over the years a lot of folks asked why we used Miss Cindy instead of a more grandmotherly name. That is the name she chose when we first had the girls.

During the last nine months a lot of you have told me being a grandparent is wonderful, well let me tell you I now truly believe you 🙂

Last night’s video: Chicken and Dumplings Supper.

  1. What a blessed event and JOYFUL time. Congrats to all. Mother and son look healthy and wonderful. It makes even me HAPPY so I know you all are over the moon. Praise be to God for this gift and for another just as precious one to come~~~

  2. How wonderful! You all will enjoy this new journey and God will bless Ira and his family. It sure is love at first sight, that is for sure. Hubs and I are grandma and grandpa. My parents were Grammy and Pappy. Hubs’ parents were Grandma Vlause and Grandma Clause. Grandpa was the town Santa and had a nice set up and 1ooked great. We took our son to see Santa, he was under 2yo. He was not fooled a bit. We walked in Hi Grandpa.” As for his Great Grandma he just called her Grandma Great. Kids are so fun.

  3. Well God sure blessed little Ira when he chose your family to send him to. I know you and your entire family are going to be incredibly busy. New things occurring. New garden, new home for Corie and Austin new great grandchild for Granny. Just a multiple things taking place. That said , keep a notebook or journal to keep |a record of the happenings in little Ira’s life. He will enjoy it when he grows up. I love to share with my young adult grandchildren tales of their early years . The oldest would scream “don’t put me in tat cage” when I would put her in the crib for a nap. We had a notebook of Maddyisms as we referred to her vocabulary . She is almost the age of your twins and still has unique expressions I record. So that is my advice . Simple but so rewarding to enjoy someday.

  4. Congratulations Katie, Tipper and Matt!! What a great photo, and Katie looks so happy! May God’s blessings continue as Katie “rebounds” and the Little Man grows!

  5. Congratulations to you & Matt. It is wonderful to be grandparents. There is more blessings in your life!

  6. Congratulations to you all. These baby boys couldn’t have asked to be born into a better family. Glad Katie & baby Ira are doing well.
Yes they always say that one of the benefits of having grandkids is that you can spoil them rotten and then send them home with their parents lol.
Can’t wait to watch them grow!!!!

  7. Words can’t describe the love between grandparent and grandchild. You think you can’t love anyone more than your children—until they have children. Katie and Ira surely have God watching over them to have given them such wonderful parents/grandparents. Whatever Ira and his little cousin call you will melt your heart. I was MeeMaw and MamMaw to my two 17-year old grandsons. Then came my 5 year old granddaughter and her 4 year old twin brother and sister (all 3 born to the same parents in the same year!!!) and they call me Maw. At first I hated it, now I wouldn’t trade it. Enjoy every second of your new roles. Congrats to all and God bless you and keep you!

  8. I’m late reading the post today but had to add my Congratulations on your little blessing. I’ve always heard people say there is nothing like grandchildren. My 2 year old granddaughter has taught me the truth to this. Blessings to Mom and Grandparents.

  9. Congratulations to the Pressley family. Baby Ira is such a blessing. We are all precious in His sight. Much peace love and joy to all.

  10. Congratulations to all, Tipper! Truly a life changing event and experience. It will be an amazing journey and so rewarding. ❤️

  11. I also wanted to say after seeing last night’s video of your chicken and dumplings, fried okra, and cornbread, and seeing everyone come fix their plate of that delicious supper, and didn’t see Katie get her a plate, I kind of felt that she had already had the baby then. What a beautiful moment. God is so good. AMEN

  12. Congratulations to you Katie. Wonderful name you chose for your little boy. I can see the happiness all over your face. Can’t wait to see little Ira up close. Also, can’t wait to see Granny holding little Ira to. I am so thrilled for you, that little Ira is finally here. Many blessings to you and your family. God bless.

  13. Congratulations to all of you. I’m so glad that mom and baby and doing fine. Katy looks so happy in this picture. Tipper & Matt, enjoy every minute you have with both your grandchildren. Time goes by so quickly that they will be going to school and then grown before you know it! My youngest one is 15 also 16 years old and it seems just yesterday he was a toddler!

  14. Congratulations to you all! Being a grandma is one of the biggest blessings God ever created!! I’m expecting my first biological grandchild in October but I have a “step” grandson but he’s just like my own, no step here!! I LOVE being a grandma so much! I was in Walmart one day and there was an older gent in there. He saw my grandson and was a ewwwin and awwwin over him I told him if I’d known grandbabies were this much fun I’d had him first!!!

  15. Congratulations to you all! What a special time for your family. You will love him more every day. Grands are so special! Love and continuing prayers for you all.

  16. oooooo! yay, so happy for new momma, baby boy, the whole family. So worth waiting for. Congrats Grandma & Papaw

  17. I’m so happy for all of you!!!! Congratulations to Katie, and to you and Matt on becoming grandparents!
Grandparent names are similar in Texas. I called my paternal grandparents Maw Maw and Paw Paw.
Such a sweet picture! Baby Ira already has a bit of hair, so cute!

  18. I call my dad’s mom Mawmaw but the other two call her Moomaw and we all call her husband Pawpaw.
It depends on which grandchild or great grandchild with mom’s mom and we all called her husband Papaw back before he died in 2021.

What a coincidence that his first church service will be Easter Sunday!!!

  19. Congratulations all! Wonderful that Katie & baby will have so much love & support. What a big boy! I’ve found that big babies can eat more which let’s them sleep more. Hope that’s true for you.

  20. Congratulations!
Such a Joyous time for you all! Praying that he will be Blessed in the years ahead! So Happy for you all!!!
    Always,
    Peggy Conner

  21. Congrats! We thought something was going on since you cut off your videos when you were done…no chit chat these past few days.
We are new grandparents for the first time too! I’m called Lollie and my husband is called Pop. Put it together you get Lolliepop (we’re the fun ones)!

  22. Congratulations to everyone, mama is just glowing! I am so happy for your family. Reading this happy news was a lovely way to begin my day, thank you for sharing this with us.

  23. Katie, Tipper, and Matt, what a wonderful time, many blessings to y’all. Baby Ira is certainly in good care and with so much love. My husband and I are very happy for you all. We are Grandpa Jack and GMA to our only Grandson and his wife. We have three great grandsons and yet to see what they call us. Granny would be great and poppa for my hubby, but nobody seems to want those names, GMA and Grandpa seems to be sticking. So little Ira and our #3 Great Grand were both March babies. Our little guy came March 15th. I let you all know and want to thank you for recognizing our announcement. You are so blessed with soon having #2. The blessings you now experience will be as wonderful with him too. Prayers for you all in the new phase of life. Take care, it goes by fast and those sweet, precious darlings will be grown and becoming adults before you know it. Love and best of everything to you all. Jennifer and family.

  24. My dear Tipper!
The joy is palpable in your post. To this day I still feel the joy of being a ” Lolly” every day that I see my. beautiful grandsons 10&7 now.
Katie looks so healthy and beaming with happiness. Ira looks to be a big boy!
I’m so very happy for you and Matt. Granny must be in love.
Take care, I hope everyone gets enough rest. Most of all ENJOY
    Sally Jo

  25. Congratulations! So thankful for a safe delivery and a healthy baby boy! I wanted to be “Granny” but ended up being “Grammy” when our grandson misunderstood the name, and that is okay by me. You will love being called whatever he chooses!

  26. I don’t know what happened to my first post on this one, it just disappeared … might have accidently hit the post at bottom as phone is being quirky this morning.
Just wanted to say a big Congrats to you and Matt! Katy looks well and the baby does too with a fine head of hair on him.
I know all are asking in the wonder of it all. Nothing like the light of a new born.
He looks like he might weigh a lot too and have a long length too but best of all he is healthy!
    God is good!

  27. My late father-in-love was called Undaddy because my oldest nephew saw the “Un-Cola” commercials in the 70’s and decided that was his grandfather’s name and the rest of the grandchildren followed his lead. I am called Sassy by our 8 grandchildren. My husband and I both lost our mates and when we married 13 years ago, I wanted to respect their original grandmother’s titles so I settled on Sassy because my grandma called me Sassafras or Sassy when I was little. I have such sweet memories of her so I cherish this name. We have 8 grandchildren ages 19, 18, 16, 13, 10, 9, 8, and 4. We stay very busy with them and love every minute! Take lots of pictures, they will make you smile in years to come.

  28. Congratulations! I just love the name Katie chose for her little boy! In my family I had Granny Margie and pawpaw on daddy’s side and Granny Beth and pa Ed on mama’s side. My kids and everyone else’s kids call my parents meme and papoo or sometimes pap for short

  29. I’am called Granny by 3 granddaughters and 9 grandsons. I now also have 2 great grandsons now I’am GG !

  30. Congratulations!
May this little boy love and serve God all his days. May he be joyful and confident in the time he is given here. And may he be a blessing to all he meets.

  31. I am SO excited for Katie & your whole family! Katie looks beautiful & simply beaming with joy! I’m wondering how Aunt Olive will react to the little babies-bet she will be very protective of them. My granddaughter calls me Missy because my daughter always referred to me as Missy to her dogs before she was married, so it passed on to my granddaughter. My Mom & Dad were called Papaw & Mimi. My son named my Mom Mimi as soon as he could say some words because his daycare worker was named Mimi. Baby Ira here just in time for Easter! He sure looks to be a fine big baby & I love his dark hair! Now we wait for Corie’s little feller!

  32. Congratulations Tipper and Matt and (Great) Granny!!!!! And of course to Katie!! As a grandma of 15 and a great grandma of about18 (& counting) of my own ‘circus’ I am thrilled you all get to enjoy the blessings, joy, and overflowing love one can be filled with when a baby joins the family. Big hugs and prayers enclosed to and for you all.

  33. You will not really care what they call you as long as they call you. LOL
Congratulations and I am glad all are well.

  34. Congratulations to all of you!! Katie looks wonderful and so happy and baby Ira looks adorable! Enjoy every moment because they grow up so fast. And just think, in three months another precious one will make his arrival. God is so good. Tipper, you and Matt welcome to the grandparent’s club. As I have said before, there is just nothing like it in the world and I love your names you picked out. We are GiGi and Granddaddy here. Once again, a big CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL!!!

  35. Congratulations! I’m so happy for all of you! Y’all are so very blessed to have him and he’s so blessed to have a family like y’all. Being a grandmother is so special. There’s nothing like it as you now know. Both girls are going to be such good mama’s! I’m overjoyed for all of you!

  36. oh boy now the fun begins and I’m sure you and Matt have realized just how fast a grandchild can make you fall head over heels in love again. Katie is absolutely beautiful holding her precious baby boy.

  37. Dear Tipper,
Congratulations to you and Matt! What an exciting time for the family! Sadly, I didn’t have any grandmothers and my only grandfather died when I was very young. But now, I’ve been blessed to be a grandma to seven beautiful kids, they are all like precious gems to me. God bless you all!

    1. Congratulations to the new grandparents!! I’m thrilled for Katie, absolutely thrilled! She looks amazing and very happy. Glad she & baby are doing great. God Bless all of you!

  38. Congratulations to all of you and Happy Birthday lil man. My grandkids call me Mamaw and a few call me Gammy. That’s what they picked for themselves. Make great memories and take lots of pictures as this precious lil man grows up.

  39. I am busting with excitement for all of you—can you believe how full your heart is with love for him…look at his tiny hand and his hair — too cute for words…katie looks happy to tears over her son and no doubt she is along with the rest of your family….I bet your mama is beaming with love for her newest great grandbaby

  40. Congratulations! YAY! A baby! So happy for y’all! Good job, Chitter! Don’t forget to sleep when you can!

  41. Congratulations! I am happy for all of you. My Mama wanted to be called Granny and she was. My husband’s mom and stepdad were called Grandma and Grandpa.

  42. Congratulations! Welcome to the world of grandparents! When I became a grandparent I had no idea I could possibly love another child as much as I did my own daughter. Then my granddaughter was born and my heart was overwhelmed with love for her. I wanted to be called Granny or Grandma, but as much as I tried one day when she was about one year old she hugged me, pulled back, looked me straight in my eyes patted my shoulders and said Mawmaw. It was almost like she was christening me the name she wanted me to be called. Now my son in laws mother is also called Mawmaw but she has 7 grandkids so I’m thinking that’s why I was also given the name Mawmaw. Then I realized my mother was also called Mawmaw Pearl by her grandchildren and my mother in law is called Mawmaw Dorothy, so it was only natural my granddaughter would call me the same since that’s what she heard all the time. I tried many times to change her mind but she wasn’t having it. I was Mawmaw and that was finial.
Enjoy every moment of your sweet grandson you can because as you know, them babies grow up way too fast! Congratulation to you all!

  43. Congratulations to all! Chitter looks amazing for someone who just gave birth. My ex-husband’s name is Ira, Pretty Papaw to the grandkids. I don’t know how that name came about any more than I know how all my grandkids started calling me Nanny instead of Nana. I’m still known as Nanny to all their friends who are now adults.

  44. Congratulations to Katie, and the entire family! New life in a family is so exciting!!! I’ll look forward to hearing and seeing more of Ira! May God bless you all!

  45. Congratulations to you and the Deer Hunter on the arrival of your first grandchild. Earlier this morning, I proudly watched Chitter and Chatter in their latest video as they both beamed with excitement as they delivered the wonderful news about Ira’s arrival. I can absolutely imagine how happy and excited you are to be new grandparents!!! My prayers and best wishes are with all of you as you welcome little Ira to your precious family…

  46. Congratulations to Katie and the family!!! I’ve been holding Katie and you all in my prayers and I’m so happy all went well. God bless!!

  47. Congratulations to all! You are in for some fun and more love than you’ve ever known. What a lucky little fellow, too! I have 4, all boys. A lot of people are relieved and looking forward to more stories. He will change so fast and it won’t be long until you hear “pitty-pats on the floor. Enjoy.

  48. My wife and I have followed y’all for a while now. Our third grandchild, (first boy) AJ was born Wednesday as well. Congratulations to y’all.

  49. Congratulations!! Welcome to the Grandma Club, there’s nothing better!

I am Mimi to 3 precious grandsons and soon to be Mimi of twin girls. I think of you, Katie and Corie often as we prepare for their arrival.

  50. Congratulations Tipper let the fun times begin. I was a grandmother the first time at age 40 and I can tell you I was thrilled with my new grandson. We had some fun times together. Eighteen years ago my daughter had her first child, a boy, and I had the chance to help take care of him. I drove from my home in Charlottesville, Va to where she lived, near Lynchburg, Va every week to take care of Nathan for a couple of days while my daughter and son-in-law worked. She also would bring him to our home many times over the years. We had some grand times. I even began his potty training of which he caught on very fast. He calls me Nana. My granddaughter calls me grandma. I also have six great-grandchildren, but I don’t see them often because they live near Houston, Texas. My husband and I retired to this area in 2015 to be near my daughter and her family and not long after that my younger son & his family moved here also. I’m trying to get our oldest son and his wife to move here now. I was more patient and relaxed with my grandchildren and was able to enjoy them more so than my children. I worked full time and was very busy while they were growing up. Take a lot of pics and videos as the time passes fast and they will be grown up before you know it. God bless you and your family.

  51. Congratulations to all of you guys! Nothing quite like a baby to make someone realize how much they’re capable of loving another person so much. Sending all my best to Katie and baby boy as the fun begins! Welcome to world, little fella!

  52. Congratulations!!! Chitter looks wonderful to have just had a baby. This little boy will turn your lives and your hearts upside down, and bring so much joy to your family. So happy for Chitter and the whole BP&A gang!

  53. We’ll all be waiting and wondering what names you two get. It is “untellin”. Whatever they are, they will sound sweet coming from the grandboys. My wife got Nana and I got Graygray and only the good Lord knows why. At the time, it wasn’t descriptive but has been getting more accurate ever since. And it may be those two boys will rename each other, never can tell in advance.

  54. Congratulations! I was thrilled to hear of Ira’s safe arrival. I enjoyed seeing videos from you, Katie and Corie yesterday. It made my day! Sending many blessings your way…

  55. My heart sang when I saw the girls video yesterday. Congratulations! I have 8 grandchildren between the ages of 2 and 6….including a set of twins. When they see me and run to me yelling “Grandma! and tackle me with hugs it’s like no other feeling in this world. You’ll see!!

  56. I’m thankful that Ira is safely in the loving arms of his family and that Katie’s experience seems to have been positive, which should encourage Corie about her own upcoming labor and delivery. Plus, she gets several weeks to enjoy her nephew while waiting for his cousin’s arrival. Congratulation to all your growing family. I suggest making yourself a list of “firsts” that you want to introduce those boys to. My list included blowing dandelions to make a wish, bubbles, toasted marshmallows and wagon rides.

  57. Congratulations, Papaw & Grandma! What a beautiful picture you posted of momma Katie & baby Ira. I know you and Matt are so very, very happy that the time has come. Now it’s time for you to sit back & enjoy this new little boy who will change your lives forever. God’s blessings on Ira….may He bless him & keep him safe all his life! Hugs!

  58. I must say Ira is a big strapping boy it looks like to me and what a pretty little head he has! Chitter is looking good and healthy too and who could ask for more on Good Friday? It truly is a Good Friday at your house with a newborn! I also looked at the video Katie shared about she’d go through it all doubly for that little man she now holds in her arms literally for the rest of her life! If Ira gets 6 feet five inches and weighs 300#, he will always be MAMA’S BABY BOY! That’s a fact!!! I like the Roanoke, Va shirt Katie has on! Also, I have been going outside, hugging a tree daily for about 10 minutes and foraging for wild violets for tea and edible flowers and it’s been fantastic for my mind and body!!!! Congrats on BABY IRA and all Jesus’ blessings and love to latest edition to the family from heaven! I had a vision all babies are in heaven until such time as they leave their family in heaven to come to earth and there’s a literal family circle there with a “high” grandmother watching over them. They play and are about 2 or 3 years there it looks like to me. I bet GRANNY IS THRILLED TOO!!! What a wonderful EASTER this year!!! Murrman saw the video of Katie’s and he said “are they twins?” “They sure are pretty young ladies!” He’s a twin of a “rotten”sister and I do mean she’s rotten to the core-God have mercy on her, but don’t tell I said it. … lol

    1. I thought what a pretty head Ira has and so much hair. I’ve been told it usually is a sign of a quick and “easy” birth. I hope so. Katie looks lovely, too! I know she’ll be an awesome mom!!

  59. congratulations to everyone. I did see Katie’s video last night what a very strong name she gave him, Ira. I know you are all delighted! Has Granny seen him? Would love to have seen her reaction.

  60. Thank you Jesus that Tipper and I get to be a grandma,!! You are so good to us Lord, we praise your precious holy name in thanksgiving, you are so, so good to us!! PS..I started out Mammal Lorie and evolved into Ma’am, such an awesome name, I cherish it! Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!!

  61. I’m so happy for you and the Deer Hunter! I’m not a grandma yet. I try to hone grandma skills at church by loving on the little ones there. Katie looks wonderful and I’m glad all went well. Chatter, you’re next! Love to all

  62. Congratulations to you and Matt on your first grandchild and soon you will have another one and boy, are you going to have fun!!!
Congratulations to Chitter for her first baby!!! Sweet times are ahead for sure!
We are known as grandma, grandpa, nan and poppy depending on which grandchild is around us. We really didn’t cared what they called us. Having grandkids is the best.

  63. I was hoping not to learn of this through social media but I suppose my hoping is only dreaming. Such is life.

  64. Good morning Grandma Tipper , God bless you and your family in Jesus name, yes, I did hear a baby crying, may the good Lord bless that young man with all he needs to live a life of peace joy and happiness in Jesus name,, God bless him with love care and protection and all he needs and wants in Jesus name

  65. Congratulations! It looks like baby Ira is going to be loved by many. It is definitely a blessing and soon you will have two!

  66. Congratulations! You are sure drinking from your saucer because your cup has overflowed. God bless ya’ll!!

  67. Congratulations Tipper and Matt and, of course, to Katie, Cori, and Granny as well! My grandmother had two daughters, my mother two daughters and one son, and I have two daughters and three granddaughters. We have for generations been short of boys, so I was thrilled hearing that your girls both have boys, and to my great surprise, one of my granddaughters had a son last year giving me my first great grandson, giving us four living generations. What a blessing! Every new baby brings such wonder, memories, and history into each family. You can just see and feel God’s work in every one of them. Thank you, God, for Ira, and thank you Katie. And just think that Cori’s son is next!

    1. Nancy, in my wife/ mother and father in law’s family there were 5 girls and no boys, just think 5 girls, wife and ONE bathroom that Paw hardly ever got to use. Paw has been gone for 11 years and the bushes around the edge of his country home backyard are just now beginning to look healthy again. But it changed with their grandchildren, 3 girls, 5 boys, and 2 great grandsons they never knew. I often mentioned the importance of spending time with family, there was very few Sunday’s when everyone of these including the son in laws did not go see them, either in the afternoon after Sunday morning church service or after Sunday night church service sometimes some of us would do both. All of us lived less than 10 miles from them. As long as she was able my mother in law always cooked a large old time country style meal on Sunday. By Sunday night she didn’t have to worry about putting up any leftovers. I was the only one that couldn’t go every Sunday because of having to work. She always made my wife fix a plate to bring home to me. I would tease my mother in law and say you are trying to stay on the good side of your son in laws by cooking these big meals for us, you are afraid we might bring one of those girls back . I hope Tipper and her family will enjoy this same type of relationship with one another, I think they will.

  68. Congratulations! I saw Katie’s video last night and was so happy for her safe delivery and the blessing she has now. I know you are happier than there are words in the Dictionary of Smokey mountain English! Katie looks radiantly happy, and I’m sure she is. Congrats Papaw and Grandma enjoy little Ira❤️

  69. When I grew up, I had only one grandparent (that I can remember). My mother’s mom. I would call her simply ‘Grandma’. Yes, she gad a husband but they separated when I was almost two then he passed. My dad’s side, had both passed away also prior to my birth.

I became a grandmother at an early age and was simple titled Grandma. However, there was more. My dad remarried to another Kate so she was Grandma Kate. On her biological father’s side, there was Grandma Joyce AND her mother, Grandma Lucy.

My first labeled her granddad, Papa and my dad, Papa John.

As children grew, all the grands began to have their own young’uns, too. I knew I’d have the opportunity to rename myself with the first great-grand and began looking for something more…so since Irish names don’t give way to great grand parents, I chose something from what I was able to phonicly pronounce. Mae-me-o. Because my husband was the only surviving male, he got to keep ‘Papa’ until he died.

Really happy about it. When I get called now, it’s easier to guess who’s addressing me.

  70. Awwww!! Congratulations to all!! There is truly nothing like having a grandbaby!! We have 6 granddaughters from age 7 to 17!! I’m Grammy and Nate is Papa. Again, congratulations for such a little bundle of joy that is such big Blessing!!

  71. Congratulations. Grandbabies are the greatest! Our youngest son and our daughter-in-law are grandpoo and grandmoo. Their oldest whose now 13 started this and it’s stuck with all five. You can ask, but there’s still no guarantee what these little ones will end up calling you. Enjoy this new miracle in your family. Blessings to all of you.

  72. Oh goodness! Congratulations to Chitter and you Tipper! What wonderful news to wake up to!

Wishing you all the very best from our family to yours!

  73. Congratulations, Grandma and Papaw! We are beyond glad and grateful to welcome Ira to our world. His name suits him perfectly. (Lyricist Ira Gershwin and storyteller Ira Glass come to mind.) May God bless Ira, his beautiful gifted mother Katie, and his wonderful family who love him so and inspire us all.❤️

  74. Congratulations Tipper & Matt! Life now becomes richer and more beautiful in a multitude of ways you cannot even imagine now. Enjoy every minute. I am called “Mammie” to 9 grands and 2 great-grands. I chose to be called “Grammie” but our first grandchild changed it to “Mammie” and that name has been music to my ears for 31 years! May God bless Chitter’s baby boy with a long life full of much love, a deep faith and a godly purpose! Prayers for Grannie.

  75. Congratulations! Nothing like having a baby around. We have a 2 month old great grandbaby.
I am MAMAW because my granddaughter couldn’t say the G in grandma.

  76. Many blessings to Katy and baby! She looks wonderful and I’m praying the Lord blesses her as she adjusts to motherhood. I’m sure there will be many joyful times ahead for you all. And I LOVE the name she chose. I’ve always loved that name for a little boy.

On my side the kids call my mom Mamaw and my grandparents are Grandma Mae and Grandpa. My husbands parents are Nana & Papaw. Everyone called his grandparents Granny & Grandad though they are sadly both gone now. I had a friend who’s mother went by “honey gram” I’m not sure why but it’s very creative!

  77. I’m so happy for you and your family. The baby is so blessed to grow up in such a loving and close family. Enjoy your grandson .

  78. Congratulations on a safe delivery! I would ask my husband every morning if we had a baby. He knew that I was asking about Katie! I have one 10 month old granddaughter and I love being a Mimi! I can’t wait to find out more about Ira!

    1. Congratulations! A true blessing from God! Ira is a beautiful name. Have fun, Grandma! Take care and God bless ❤️

  79. Congratulations! You and Matt will make such awesome grandparents! Greatest feeling in the world to hear them come running and calling out whatever name they choose!! Many blessings to all y’all! God is so good!

  80. Congratulations to you all! I am so tickled for you. When I saw Katie’s video last evening, I was just giggly with excitement for you all. I am Grammy to my grandchildren. I actually had decided that ‘Grams’ was a sorta cool name, and that’s who I would be, but— our first grandchild ,at first, called me Guh—because I would say Guh Guh Grams trying to get her to pronounce it. One day she called me Grammy, and it stuck. Lol! They all call my hubby, Pap. The two year old calls him Pappy sometimes and he loves it. We have five—and they are the loves of our life—each one so different with their own special personality. Katie looks so beautiful and happy, and the baby has so much hair! Congratulations again, Grandma and Papaw! . God Bless!

  81. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! I’m so happy for all of you! I know you and Papaw are beyond happy!!
Being grandparents is amazing!! Continued prayers of praise and praying for Granny. God bless you and yours and blessings. Praying for Corie and her little one.

  82. Oh my gosh…WONDERFUL…Tipper, you are gonna love your new role and I am sure Matt will only in another way. Not only is he a Grandpa, but now he has a new playmate. I can see the day when he will say, I am busy with him and I will catch up later on my chore. Prayers for Granny, of course, and God’s Blessings on your new role in life.

  83. Congratulations to all. It never made any difference to me about the name my grandchildren chose to call me, the only thing that mattered to me is spending time with them. Now they are grown, one is 24 and the other is 18 and graduates high school this year. They chose Papa and Nana. To tell the difference between my paternal and maternal grandparents I would call them Grandmother and Grandaddy and then their last name. I don’t think the love grandparents feel for their grandchildren can be explained with words. Tipper and Matt, the love you feel now is going to soon double with another grandson on the way and will continue to grow as you spend time with them.
