Blind pig and the acorn blog giveaways from appalachia

The winner of my handmade Christmas Angel is…C. Ron Perry, Sr. who said:

Those items are beautiful. My mom was always doing things like that when she was living. We have many of the things that she made here and put them out at Christmas time. My wife generally starts decorating just after Thanksgiving and by New Years, everything is put away for the next year.”

The winner of the first issue of the Songs of Christmas cd is…Janet Smart who said:

Such a cute picture! I love reading about the history of old songs. There was even a picture book written on the history of Amazing Grace.”

The winner of the tan hat is…James Smithson who said:

There was always a big Thanksgiving get together at my wife’s parents home in WV. There were 8 kids in her family and after they all growed up all the grandkids and husbands and wives all came home for the special day. The men all went hunting and someone always killed a deer. Those times are gone and we make our own memories for our families but I do miss those days past.”

The winner of the black hat is…David Wilson who said:

I enjoy your daily Blind Pig and have read it for years. Right after my morning meditation time I grab a cup of coffee and read it. I really love to cook and enjoy your recipes! I am not really one to write things online but I would really like a chance to win a Blind Pig Cap. I suspect most people would like me to stop putting on the same Ford Truck hat every day. Gotta have something to keep my bald head warm. Keep up the Blind Pig and Acorn! Growing up in the south, I enjoy all the wonderful things you share.”

All the winners can send their mailing address to me at blindpigandtheacorn@gmail.com

I have a few more giveaways planned so be on the lookout for them!

  1. Tipper,
Congradulations to C. Ron Perry, Sr., Janet Smart, James Smithson, and David Wilson on their win. I know you’ll enjoy them.
I got to have Thanksgiving with some of my family, but my nephews from Georgia and Florida came up and cleaned on their property. Later they helped bust wood for me, while my daughter, husband and kids stacked in the woodshed. We all had a good time just spending time and talking about the good ole days. Now it’s time for leftovers, and those wonderful Deer burgers…Ken

  2. My Songs Of Christmas CD by Pap and Paul has already been played from start to finish since Thanksgiving Day. The CDs cover photo is enough to put you in the Christmas spirit before their beautiful music fills the air.
