Happy New Year to everyone!
Have always heard of pages referred to as leafs. Like in a ‘loose leaf notebook’, or leafing through pages/books. Thought of a table that has a removable section for making it larger /smaller. Heard that as ‘taking out/adding in’ a leaf.
Prayers for the needs mentioned here. Have been familiar with these troubles, also.
Blind Pig does still feel like home 🙂
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year from Pennsylvania.
How precious are those hand made Christmas gifts. There are some pictures that you included above and the one from Father’s Day with you and your dad looks like he’s wearing the shirt that Kori used to make your gift.

Happy New Year! Praying ya’ll have a blessed 2025 and healing for Granny!
Oh yes, we’ll come by. I thought of something I wanted to ask you the other day. Is the expression “take a leaf out” used around Murphy? By “leaf” I mean a page, such as out of a pocket notebook. I seem to have a dim memory of the old timers who carried notebooks in the bib of their overalls calling a page a “leaf”. Around here I’ll tell Sharon “I need to ask Tipper ….” You make me want to hold on to old things and old ways of speaking and doing and being. Even if it is a New Year
Ron-I haven’t heard it I don’t think 🙂
Ron- I worked as a librarian for several years. We often referred to a page in a book as a leaf and a book had many leaves. Among a few of us we came up with leaflet being a derivative of that. Meaning it was a page (leaf) but not a full book (let). We would often say someone “tore a leaf out” or “wrote on a leaf” in a book.
Aren’t pages in any book still called leaves? Maybe the world has passed me by! I grew up leafing through the Bible, dictionaries and such!
Ron, I have heard “turning over a new leaf,” meaning making a fresh start. That is close.
Ron, I have heard of the 3 ring notebooks students use to carry to school being called leaf notebooks so my feeble mind thinks a sheet or page of notebook paper could have been called a leaf. My Grandaddy carried one of those small notebooks in the bib pocket of his overalls. A local fertilizer dealer would give them to him along with a short pencil, both of them advertised Bulldog fertilizer. I have one of each, now if I could only find them. Concerning “sheet” of paper, that is name we called a page of notebook paper when I was in school during the 60’s.
I sure will! I enjoy all the channels your family produces. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Happy new year to you and your wonderful family. I pray for good health for all, especially Granny.
happy New Year Granny Wilson, God bless you, you are on my prayer list, each time I read my prayer list, I mention your name to the Lord, then I pray for you, I love you Granny

Happy New Year, Pressley family!
Happy New Year everyone! I am usually not awake at 4 am but the nursing home where my dad is living just called me. Of course, I thought the worst, but it was the nurse asking for my help. My dad was moved to a new room today because he had been in a rehab room waiting on a regular one to open up. He has dementia, so change is not something he can deal with. Apparently, he hasn’t slept at all tonight and he keeps ringing the nurse with his call button. Then he tells her to get out. He wants to go back to his old room. I know it will take a few days for him to settle and she thought maybe if I talked to him, I could calm him down. I knew it wouldn’t work, and I am sure she is having a terrible night. I am just gonna pray for her and my dad, and myself—because this is really stressful.
Brenda T-I’m so sorry. I will pray for him to be okay in his new room.
Brenda, I was also up before 4 which is really not unusual. I am up and down during the night. When I woke up, I looked at the local news on my iPad. There was a very bad wreck near me with at least one being killed ( actually 4), the picture of the vehicle they were showing looked like it might be my grandson’s truck. I was very upset and worried. Now after my daughter and wife’s deaths I feel like I couldn’t handle anymore. I feel sorry for you or anyone else having to deal with a loved one having dementia. There have been members of both mine and my wife’s family to have it. My sister is in a rehab center / nursing home, when I visit her,I see many there with it. She does not have it. I will pray for both you and your Daddy.
Thank you Tipper and Randy. I appreciate your prayers very much. I am sorry if I sounded so down this morning. I am truly blessed and have much to be thankful for today and always. I was just a little shook up from the early call, but I am feeling much better now. Thank you again. Happy New Year to everyone!!
Oh Brenda, I can sympathize with you with your Dad. My Mom is 98 living in Assisted Living & she has some dementia. She often has bad dreams & thinks they are real & gets so upset. I am the only one who can convince her they are just dreams. It is so heartbreaking for us isn’t it, but I am in constant prayer for her & I know she will surely go to heaven when the time comes & be waiting for me & my siblings. I will pray for you & your precious Dad. Sending you a
hug
Thank you Cheryl. I will say prayers for you and your mama also. It is so sweet to have so many people on this blog that pray for each other. .
Happy New Year to everyone. The year for my area is starting out cold, looking at weather forecast for the next 7-10 days looks to be very cold with below average temperatures.
