The last riddle I shared was from “Way Down Yonder on Troublesome Creek Appalachian Riddles & Rusties” by James Still.

“Why does Troublesome Creek get restless once in a while and flood its banks?”

The answer: It has rocks in its bed.

One time when I was in High School, Mama told me about Loosing her First Child. It was a Girl. She had 6 boys after that, me being the youngest. Mama never mentioned her name, cause she died a couple days later. She would have been around 20 years older than me.

That’s why I call You “The Sister I never had.” ( And a Good One too. ) …Ken

  2. Cause there is a a lot of ”ears” and if something really dangerous is heard ,they might just haft to call the chief”kernel” 🙂

  3. The corn has ears! Of course everything you post on here brings up some long ago memory. There is not much worse than trying to pick beans in corn. You go through that thick maze and come out on the other side covered with corn silk and probably lots of bugs. The great thing is you can have a meal fit for a king in no time flat. Nothing much better than roastineers.
