My September Charm anemones have out done themselves this year. The blooms are bright and plentiful. I’ve been growing the plant for 20 years and it still surprises me with its beauty every September.

The pretty pink flowers are as dependable as the ivy and laurel blooms that surround my mountain holler in early summer.

Pap’s only sister shared the plant with me and for the first 15 years it stayed in the area I planted it and didn’t seem to want to do anything else.

A few years back the flowers decided they to live up to their reputation of being invasive and decided to spread like wildfire through my flower beds. Since then I pull it up all summer long, but still can’t seem to keep it in check.

On a beautiful September day with the crickets chirping about fall of the year and an overflow of pink petals nodding in the breeze I wonder why I don’t just let it completely take over for good.
